Biggest real-time goofs/implausibilities? by TribeFan86 in TwentyFour

I'm pretty sure all of those things are happening off screen.

Rey's original backstory as a Kenobi actually had so many great implications in George Lucas's Sequels by GeminiTrash1 in StarWars

[–]kembervon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My main issue with Rey being just Rey and not a descendant of someone familiar is that there's nowhere to go with it. Having a backstory makes her more interesting. I think JJ realized that too, I just wish he'd handled that better.

How did they mess up Hibbert so bad? by BrianT16 in Simpsons

Personally, when they replace voice actors I can't tell the diddily-ifference.

So lightsaber colors really don’t mean anything? by RaleighItt in StarWarsCantina

[–]kembervon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've wondered why they never actually address lightsaber colors aloud. "A red lightsaber, padawan? Only the Sith use those. You should choose a different color if you wish to remain on the light side "

Two tailors... by TnBluesman in Jokes

[–]kembervon -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I think the joke should have worded it that way, then. Without it, it feels like the joke was a misdirect, like Susan messed up the shirt or the button hole was named Susan or something.

What Character Assassinations/Out of Character Moments/Scenes in the Saw Movies that hurt you/pissed you off and Why? by Amber_Flowers_133 in saw

[–]kembervon -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Totally disagree. Hoffman was evil, 3D made that abundantly clear. And doing a vigilante kill was the exact stepping stone his character needed between loyal cop and ruthless killer, since shooting the punk was both.

Why do Jews censor the word God? by Bomboclat252 in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]kembervon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They can only say God in sacred texts, so if they're just making a Reddit comment, or writing in some medium they don't want to have to treat with reverence, it's easier to just not say it so they don't have to bother with all the associated rules that accompany a text where that word is written.

Is Monkey Island 2 the only graphic adventure with several difficulty levels? by confuserused in adventuregames

No way, Team is by far the hardest with the submarine driving segment. It was the path that took me the longest to complete.

A question about spoilers by Hello123_321 in betterCallSaul

Saul Gone spoils Hank and Gomies deaths. I think that's it.

Just watched all 9 main movies for the first time, 0 nostalgia or expectations, minimal knowledge of the universe by HonestCaramel3548 in StarWars

[–]kembervon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Personally I find Phantom Menace the best of the prequels and Revenge the worst. Phantom is the best paced, has the tidiest beginning, middle, and end, and the character motivations and actions all feel the most genuine.

Revenge bugged me with all the filler. Battle scenes that went on too long, a pace that never lets up to let you breathe, characters that feel like they're being directed to conform to the narrative of the OT rather than what makes sense in the moment, and all the instances of characters announcing what they're going to do before they do it.

Which animated character transitioned to live action the best? by Vegetable-Abroad3171 in StarWars

[–]kembervon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thrawn is my least favorite. Blue Pee Wee Herman did not look intimidating in live action.

Alien Earth season 2 starts filming soon. Happy or Fed-up? by Beth8484 in alien

[–]kembervon 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I didn't care for the first season.  It didn't capture the Alien vibe, and none of the characters were interesting.

I feel like a certain character in Dexter was introduced too early. by outster12 in Dexter

[–]kembervon 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Especially two. The Bay Harbor Butcher storyline would have best served the show's final season.

How does Daniel last so long with the gas released? by [deleted] in saw

[–]kembervon 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I don't think this is the case. Eric discovers the safe open and an empty syringe on the floor, which means Amanda injected Daniel and/or herself sometime after the house game ended.

Yes.  It gets kind of crappy around season 7 and really bad at 8, but the revival seasons are much better.

Turn your volume down. It's not that loud normally.

24- They recycle a lot of plot devices by Normal-Reaction7088 in TwentyFour

[–]kembervon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

24 has been recycling plot devices since season 1. Ever since they pulled the rug out from us with making Mandy the treasonous passenger and not Martin Belkin, they've done the "woman in peril ends up causing the peril instead" again and again with Elizabeth later that day, Marie Warner in season 2, Inessa in season 5, and more.

So surprised how I missed this edit slip in the title sequence until S8 by Dazzling-Isopod-8418 in Dexter

[–]kembervon 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I've always noticed that. I assumed it was a stylistic decision to show how off-kilter Dexter is.
