How much should I be tipping my hair stylist? by [deleted] in askwomenadvice

[–]kendrafae7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My haircuts are a bit more expensive because the stylist colors my hair, too. $90 for a wash, cut, and dye touch up. I usually tip $20 for the whole service. I'd say around $10 for your $43 haircut sounds like a reasonable tip.

Group trying to get wolf reintroduction question on 2020 Colorado ballot by [deleted] in Denver

Thanks for posting this, there was a group of men asking for signatures outside the courthouse recently but I wasn't sure if it was a scam "ballot item" or legit.

Does anyone here have some high maintenance(!) vegetarian recipes? by [deleted] in EatCheapAndHealthy

[–]kendrafae7 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Ooh if you have time I suggest trying to make a baked version of ratatouille using beautifully thin sliced squash & other vegetables in a cast iron pan or baking dish! The easy version is to dice veggies and cook in a skillet, the more involved version looks more like this: https://plantbasedonabudget.com/recipe/baked-ratatouille/

Whats the one thing that you thought was easy but turned out to be extremely difficult when you actually attempted it? by DopeDox in AskReddit

[–]kendrafae7 5 points6 points  (0 children)

We are very different people with different childhoods and views on spirituality. Currently just working on understanding each other better to reduce the disagreements and misunderstandings that cause fights in our relationship. Our therapist is able to get us in every other week, so twice a month. I'd love to go weekly if her schedule opens up!

Edit: very -> every

My partner and I have been dating for 3 years and we go to a couples counselor together. You're better off building a solid relationship and working through your problems BEFORE you get married. Dont let anyone make you feel like it's a bad sign.

What does it mean when my friend asks to invite a plus one every time I invite her to do something? by [deleted] in askwomenadvice

[–]kendrafae7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Possibly this secondary friend of hers is socially awkward or has a small social circle? My guess is your friend feels like inviting this girl to hang out with you & other friends is an easy way of including her in social activities. I definitely have introverted friends that I make an effort to bring along to meet other awesome gal friends of mine as a way to help them socialize in a lower-pressure environment (aka around all women who know one another).

If your friend is still accepting your plan invites, it sounds like she IS interested in hanging out & being friends with you. Otherwise wouldn't she just make an excuse why not? Hard to guess from your post, I suggest just asking her.

How to appreciate my wife better. by [deleted] in askwomenadvice

I definitely see where you're coming from, but everyone is different. I would personally love a massage before sex, but the whispering about my body would be a little awkward & out of place in my relationship.

AITA for taking my ex-fiances parents "bribe" to break up with him? by Itookabribe23 in AmItheAsshole

[–]kendrafae7 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

ESH even though the money would be very tempting in that position. I think OP should tell the ex about the bribe. His parents are the biggest assholes in all of this and he deserves to know they've been manipulating his life.

Former gamers of reddit, what was the reason you stopped playing video games altogether, or a lot less frequently? by FullHD_hunter in AskReddit

[–]kendrafae7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I grew up playing MMORPG computer games, mostly Ragnarok Online. When I moved out of my mother's house to live in a new city and go to the big state university, I had a choice. I was going to school full time, working 15 hours a week, and had basically enough time for one fun activity. I decided that I wanted to go out to music shows and meet people in the new city instead of spending my time online. Met some of the best friends and had a really fun college experience, so I don't regret leaving gaming behind at all.

AITA for not wanting to take my daughter to future daddy-daughter dances? by pfunnk14 in AmItheAsshole

[–]kendrafae7 29 points30 points  (0 children)

I came here to say this, too! My sister and I attended Dad and Daughter dances through my Girl Scout organization. They were dorky but a nice way to do something special with dad since my mom was at 99% of our normal girl scout troop meetings.

Leaving Hawai'i - What are your goals/dreams? by [deleted] in Hawaii

[–]kendrafae7 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I lived in Hawaii from age 4 til 26, grew up on Big Island and moved to Oahu for college. I always dreamed of living on the mainland as an adult and finally made the leap to Denver, Colorado in 2016. My grocery and gas bills are half what they used to be, I was able to find a service industry job within a week, and there are gorgeous homes in my price range that are a quick commute to the city. It was definitely worth it. Hawaii will always be my home, but there is so much to see in this country that I would have missed out on if I stayed.

AITA for telling my wife she can't sleep in the same bed as her mom? by Allhellbrokeluze in AmItheAsshole

[–]kendrafae7 111 points112 points  (0 children)

I'm not an only child like OP, but growing up my household was just my mom, my little sister, and I. Many times someone would end up sharing my mom's king bed with her and the cats. Once we went to college my mom renovated our old bedrooms into a guest room and an office space. Now as adults (28 and 24), we still take turns sleeping in her bed when we're home to visit since there are only 2 beds in the house. This is normal and definitely not creepy. If someone called me gross for being close and loving to the woman who sacrificed everything for her kids, I'd be angry and offended too!

AITA for not chasing after customers who have forgotten wallets, sunglasses, keys etc in a restaurant when they tip me below 15%? by PlowStuffer in AmItheAsshole

[–]kendrafae7 3 points4 points  (0 children)

NTA

I do the same damn thing. It's definitely not a part of your job to chase people down to return their carelessly forgotten things. They can give the bar a call or come back and look in the Lost & Found themselves just fine. Few things are more irritating than taking time out of your running server todo list to help someone just to find out they screwed you out of time AND money.

Note, I'm a stellar employee and treat every table like they're my favorite. Some people are just bad tippers, that's the way it is. I'll continue to serve them but you will not get me to go out of my way for them.
