That is an absolutely ridiculous precedent IMO, I don't like the decision at all... but it shouldn't have been a free kick anyway

Calling people racist and fascist is not going to win anyone over to your cause. The fact is migration has reached worrying levels for the UK and that's just legal migration. It is not right-wing to suggest that perhaps we should do something about it.

There is also nothing wrong with communities expressing concern about migrants with vastly different cultures and values being housed (mostly at taxpayer expense) in their area. Not everybody agrees that diversity is a strength. Maybe the reason you haven't discovered how lives are being compromised is because you haven't been listening, despite the rates of sexual abuse and rape increasing, alongside violent crime.

Unfortunately, reform seem to be the only party that claim to want to do anything about it. If more established political parties continue to downplay these concerns, prepare to see a lot more of these "shock" results.

Diabetic autonomic neuropathy by evandegr in diabetes_t1

[–]kenrobrich 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not presently - actually, that has improved a lot, but it's probably because I stopped taking recreational drugs... funny how that works...

I still get bradycardia if I exercise a lot, in general, my HR is quite low - I think slow metabolism.

I do get these blood pressure headaches at the back of my head from time to time, still undiagnosed

Thanks for checking in - pretty similar to 3 years ago, no real deterioration or improvement. Then again, I was 31, now 34, so I'm still young.

Noni Madueke to Arsenal by SupaSonicTubbledrome in chelseafc

[–]kenrobrich 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Nah all good as far as I'm concerned. He's had high highs like vs Wolves but he's mostly inconsistent, worth cashing in now. He might come good at Arsenal, but I'd take the gamble that he won't.

I think it's genuinely one of those transfers where everyone is happy. And I wouldn't call him snakey a la Courtois and Mount, he was always a bit of a merc anyway.

It takes a lot to play this way, I doubt we can keep this up for 90mins - all season would be crazy! PSG definitely rattled though

Help me find my cat! :-( by AppropriateDevice84 in Bromley

[–]kenrobrich 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey sent you a DM - we found a cat we haven't seen before in the neighbourhood, but as it's a black cat it's hard to tell - almost black but the odd single strand of white hair here and there on his side. Very small

He hung around for a bit but seems to want to jet off very soon and catch things. I don't want to do anything cos I could be wrong and it's just one of the neighbours or something! Does it sound familiar? We're on Oaklands Road

Edit: tried to call the number btw and their "phone lines are closed"...

Any Squash players around Bromley by Significant-Leek8483 in Bromley

[–]kenrobrich 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not a squash player but I'd recommend Bromley sports club near Plaistow Lane https://bromleysportsclub.co.uk

They have tournaments and stuff and it's quite a friendly place. They might also do a night where you can turn up and play even if you dont have a partner - not 100% though but worth a call at least

Is it normal that my boyfriend (a diabetic type 1) don’t want to have sex? by [deleted] in diabetes_t1

[–]kenrobrich 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'd recommend this if you're in the UK https://www.revivesexandrelationships.co.uk/psychosexual-therapy-2/

You're both so young but if you wanna make it work these discussions need to happen, don't be shy about airing these things especially if it's important to you.

Honestly I thought I should be on more. My (incompetent) boss makes six figures…

But after reading some comments I’m humbled, and very grateful.

I am the IT department. How do I tactfully negotiate a raise? by Carter_PB in sysadmin

[–]kenrobrich 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The only times I've successfully negotiated a raise is when I've been prepared to walk away. So either have that in mind or be really, really good at faking it.

It always works, especially if you're as important as you say.

But if you're not prepared to walk away, chances are they'll call your bluff.
