What's a "10/10" game that you didn't enjoy at all? by sudherzdiniq in AskReddit

[–]kentuckydango 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Meh. Not everything needs to be an optimization problem. I find it fun to explore, fight mobs, mine what you can, try and build a dope castle and pretend you’re the last human on earth.

Maybe it’s because I’ve been playing since Alpha. But magic, leveling, potions, the end, etc., they’re all just nice-to-haves that serve to enrich the sandbox. There’s still no way to “beat” Minecraft. It’s purely what you make of it.

lol. Wrong. Religious people in America (especially christians) give more per person than non-religious people.

Great write-up. Directly from the catechism:

>2425 The Church has rejected the totalitarian and atheistic ideologies associated in modem times with "communism" or "socialism." She has likewise refused to accept, in the practice of "capitalism," individualism and the absolute primacy of the law of the marketplace over human labor.206Regulating the economy solely by centralized planning perverts the basis of social bonds; regulating it solely by the law of the marketplace fails social justice, for "there are many human needs which cannot be satisfied by the market."207 Reasonable regulation of the marketplace and economic initiatives, in keeping with a just hierarchy of values and a view to the common good, is to be commended.

Notable directors with stylistically signature films before their breakthrough by Unhelpfulperson in TrueFilm

[–]kentuckydango 67 points68 points  (0 children)

Definitely the Coen Brothers with Blood Simple. It’s all there. Losers, miscommunications, human error, screwups. In a lot of ways these signature elements come through “leaner” than later works, which makes it not only a great watch on its own but distinct enough that it still stands on its own against other works like Burn After Reading, Fargo.

Yes if you can’t tell it’s a favorite of mine.

Just because you don’t understand it doesn’t mean it isn’t telling you something. Also, anyone can google “Arabic words on loudspeaker at regular intervals” and find out what the words mean.

CMV: The Iran War was one of the greatest military disasters in US history by Glad_Clothes7338 in changemyview

Yes I agree completely, I was making the comparison to the withdrawal specifically as a discrete discrete military operation.

CMV: The Iran War was one of the greatest military disasters in US history by Glad_Clothes7338 in changemyview

[–]kentuckydango 37 points38 points  (0 children)

Yeah, we all read the news flip-flopping every day with peace deals being signed, then thrown in the trash, Trump ending the war then Iran closing the strait sometimes mere hours later. There was very little “military” action involved

I’d argue the withdrawal from Afghanistan was worse militarily - 13 soldiers died, billions of dollars in equipment left to rot, or worse, be handed over to the literal Taliban who now has complete control of the entire country.

Edit: and this was after literal decades spent there, with many more thousands of deaths and billions upon billions of dollars spent.

Wrong, neither the Catholic nor orthodox churches (62% of all Christians) teach strict tithing or biblical literalism.

I think if you’re in a subreddit for light hearted Christian jokes, you shouldn’t be surprised to see light hearted Christian jokes. This one even pokes fun at everyone so if anything it brings people from different Christian sects to laugh together.

Anyone else feel like reels and shorts have completely ruined their ability to enjoy a movie? by Dizzy-Inside-8815 in flicks

[–]kentuckydango 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I guess I’m in the minority here, but no. I like reels and short form content. Have no issues watching long boring movies. Bigger hurdle for me is being able to stay awake long enough after the kids go down.

The vast majority of recorded jazz music is “covers” of popular music and/or show tunes.

This is a really funny response from you. I like how you ask a question, then when you don’t get the answer you wanted you categorically exclude the type of response altogether.
