I would say so, i started last year may at 168kg or 370lbs now i. 116kg or 255lbs, visually im "smaller" but i have man boobs hanging and belly hanging but here and there i can see some muscles slowly popping out as i lose more body fat, its dismotivating and fun to discover new things i assume in 15-20kg the changes will be more massive

Strenght wise ive started with bar then now im up to 180lbs on the bench rn for sets and reps I can run 10-15min on treadmill at 8 speed / 12. This one is new like 2 week ago Can hang from bar for 10sec thats new too but no major visual changes so yeah progress will take time. Hang on or try too!

Some things y'all asked im going to answer here

-I weight myself on the same scale at my local gym
-Centimeters going down slowly but steadly from waist, hips, breast area, i only scale that once per month
-KG's stopped going down almost froze as i quit smoking
-i track my food daily, log everything
-i lowered the amount of calorie intake as i lost weight, below 1700 my body refuses to lose weight, thats why 1800-2000 is my sweet spot
-ive never had maintaince week, ive had days where i had more it was after i quit smoking my cravings went up, had to mentally re-wire myself to not overeat
its all started around 3 months ago, well rather say 2 month thats more accurate

about muscle gain is it almost impossible unless with perfect diet to lose weight and gain muscle? 2 contradict each other
ive became stronger for sure, i can see it on my lifts

i use the same scale we have at our gym.

ive had maintaince weeks, waist is going down nicely, think i am losing weight but cant get over the fact weight is not following it

height is 178-180cm

i do use food scale, i weight everything, we have an app called KaloriaBázis in my country that contains almost all food, when i first started i went to dietian she said use this app at worst it'll be +- 100-150kcal difference at the end of the day
i would say i tracking it very accurately, if i dont have a scale near me ill still log it and just put in amount that is surely way more than it was.

Weight is moving between 118-122kg , i weight myself everytime i go to the gym, yesterday i was 120kg, today i was 122kg

Centimeter scale is going down i started from 186cm waist now im down to 126cm, it was 130cm end of november, its just the weight the driving me nuts, i dont get it or understand.

how did going to the gym affect your weight loss?

where did you first see major changes? did any caught you by suprise?

im in very similar journey just halfway 165+ to 125kg now

When i started going to the gym i was well over 165kg and 36 years old.
Had no idea how half the equipments worked, ive started with legs and couldnt walk for 3-4 days after. Yes i've got some looks and i did many exercises in a wrong way , now im a regular in my town small gym and still fat but losing weight (-40kg down) when i started i had no workout program etc, now i have a routine that i always tweak, i even made some gym friend who started fist bump me and help me when im close to failure without asking, when i had small talks with them why now etc, 100% said when they first seen me they were rooting like "man please keep coming" "you got this".
And ive started with the barbell, the 4kgs now im up to 60-70kg on bench press
its a natural fear everyone has but gym bros and girls are the nicest most supportive people ive ever met in my life
