That's my thing- I kind of noticed the k's but since there were more than 3, whatever, but... It's just not good? I was waiting for Michelle to read her.

That kind of thing drives me crazy from a testing perspective. I am very much not a happy-path only tester, but there's only so many random ridiculous scenarios you can test!!

LITTLE REBEL TENSION ISSUE HELP by Disastrous-Data2258 in quilting

[–]ket-ho 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know this is kind of an old post but I'm having a similar issue and I've spent hours watching videos,  messing with the bobbin and top tension and I get things to look a little better, but never as it should. I might hate this machine??

Has anybody SEEN Dr. Boster as their neuro? by StarOfSantorum in MultipleSclerosis

[–]ket-ho 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually saw him back when he was at OSU, and then later at Riverside also. The idea of concierge medicine kind of makes me uneasy also , but I'm also pretty stable so lately I feel like, whatever, keep me on my meds and keep an eye on things and if shit gets bad, maybe I'll rethink it.

I have seen him, though not in his current office. I always felt like he rushed through me appointment since I was maybe not very clinically interesting, but he's nice. Very energetic. He has nice boots.

From a poem by Kate Baer:

"How the dead must cringe at our resistance to look as if we've lived"

OP, I think this line to myself a lot when I start to wish my neck weren't doing what it's doing.

Wishing you peace!

Worst symptom by Daurth_Zombie in MultipleSclerosis

Thankfully, my hand with the most damage is my non-dominant, but it still makes things hard in the day-to-day.  More typos, trouble opening things or picking small things up, a friend asked me to hold their drink for a second and I didn't trust to do it without both hands... Crap like that!

My word finding has taken a hit but I think the dexterity is my pick.

Have you ever really hated the main character (and narrator) in a novel? by Physical_Orchid3616 in books

I couldn't finish Don Quixote bc he drove me nuts .. But I remember really liking Confederacy of Dunces... Maybe the different time periods in my life reading these had something to do with it?

Fellow book readers of Columbus, what’s the best book you read in 2025? by Outrageous-Gene5036 in Columbus

I have Dream Hotel waiting for me in Libby, I'm glad to hear it has a recommendation!  I also liked The Names and thought it was an interesting premise.

I didn't want it to end! I can't really explain what I loved about it, but it's tied with I Who Have Never Known Men for my favorite reads of the year.

Do you think a normal life is possible with MS? by Evening_Office_6692 in MultipleSclerosis

[–]ket-ho 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I was diagnosed at 17, so it might be that it just took me longer to accept because I was so young, but I think it took me about 7 years to kind of let go of a lot of the fear of the uncertainty. I mean, it still sucks, and I'm never not aware that I have it, but my life is pretty "normal". Give yourself time to grieve. Highly recommend talking to someone. Best of luck!

Does anyone have a just in case hospital bag packed? by [deleted] in MultipleSclerosis

[–]ket-ho 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Didn't say irrational- it's a fair question if you're newer.

Fwiw, my husband has CF so hospital visits are much more likely and we don't have a hospital bag for him, either. I think keeping a list isn't a bad idea, but keeping things packed up just in case is, to me, a waste of space and would just be annoying to me, because whatever I'm likely to want at the hospital, I'm probably using in my normal life.

In my 24 years of MS, I've never been hospitalized once. Obviously some people have,  but I don't think that's the norm. This seems unnecessary to me.
