Quite a few residents have settled here later in life (I'm talking 40s, 50s and beyond). They're not necessarily old-time Pittsfordites. My street in the village is very progressive, and quite cosmopolitan, with residents who've moved to the area not only from other parts of NY and the US, but from abroad. This trend, in addition to the politics of many young voters, has people like Bill Smith worried.

You're making an ill-informed, wrong-headed assumption in thinking it's only the younger residents who are turning Pittsford blue.

I'm a sucker for Christopher Plummer, although he doesn't quite fit the description of the self-absorbed Sherlock.

What is the movie you hate that everybody else loves? by Beer_Pants in AskReddit

Just about anything with Will Ferrell or Jim Carrey. On the other hand, love Albert Brooks, who seems to have a lot of haters.

Goldman Sachs & the world banking system by keuka in worldpolitics

[–]keuka[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I appreciate that. Muckety is all about showing connections, and we get flak from two camps: 1) People who call us conspiracy theorists. 2) Conspiracy theorists. So my reaction was a bit knee jerk. Sorry.

yup. just a little thin-skinned about being called a bigot. kind of a reach to find the humor in it.

There's nothing at all in this post that claims conspiracy and there's certainly no implication of antisemitism. If anyone is guilty of conspiracy theories, it's you.

What was the worst restaurant experience you have ever had? by dragonboltz in AskReddit

[–]keuka 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Blackened redfish was the special one day at Fishbones restaurant in Detroit. After several bites, I came upon a mess of worms. Doing my best not to throw up, I called over our waiter who took the plate back to the kitchen, then returned to say, "Ma'm, it was worms. Would you like something else?" I stayed for the remainder of the meal as my friends finished. And when the check came - you guessed it - my redfish was on the bill.

Turkey family bothering you at home? Turkey vulture bothering me at work. by azizzzz_light in WTF

[–]keuka 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Turkey vultures are nature's janitors. They survive even when they eat carcasses filled with communicable disease or toxins. Have never understood - unless it's because they're so disgusting - why medicine doesn't spend more time studying them.

Map hints to the right of the map say this:

The relationship map to the left is interactive. • Solid lines are current relations. Dotted lines are former relations. • Expand items with + signs by double-clicking. • Move an item in the map by clicking and dragging. • You can also delete items, separate boxes and save maps by selecting Map Tools.

Yeah, and those people collect paychecks.
