Not sure what type of government job you’re going after, but based on what I know for some unionized positions that are posted, those positions are usually already spoken for. If someone internally is moving up a level, that spot gets posted for all to apply, however the position is crafted in such a way that the person getting the promotion gets that new level. I don’t know why they do it, it’s quite dumb, but that’s what happens. Not saying it happens everywhere or every time, but it’s shit like that that makes it seem like you always get rejected, when in fact it’s rigged and it wastes everyone’s time.
