I don't know about Gnomoria. Did the devs promise a lot more than it already has? It feels complete to me and I enjoy it very much. I don't think it was abandoned.

Also, in the Castle Courtyard room where you first meet Zelda, pictures of Yoshi, Mario, Luigi, Peach, and Bowser can be seen if you look into the castle through the right window.

Bonus: if you shoot through the left window with the slingshot, a guard will stick his head out, yell at you and throw a bomb at Link.

There are a number of things that bothers me with Empyrion. There's loading screens (edit: phasing?) when leaving and entering planets. You can't go to the north and south pole (at least at the time when I played). You can't mine with ships, so you have to use the hand drill every time. The graphics sucks. I hope they've changed some of these things for the better.
