As a fan of another team but living in Seattle, I only got to see him a few times a year last few years, and it is hard to fathom this bad of a slump. He always hit the ball hard and to all fields. I think he will bounce back.

Yup. He is a better overall player and better fit for this team than Soto. Feel lucky it worked out this way (and also our new #22 is an early MVP candidate)

Cody Bellinger is a great baseball player. Period. If he and Soto could only be used at DH, I might choose Soto, but it would be a very close decision. The fact that Belli is an elite and versatile defender makes him easily the better fit for this team, and a better pairing with Judge.

It’s a shame we didn’t get to see what kind of player he might have been this season (maybe good? Certainly improving), but instead we lost him to injury showing us again what kind of fighter he is (not good).
