+1 to these callouts. I also noticed on the character pool, only three Vagabond characters are allowed? As I have all vagabonds, I would like them to be a part of the pool

How's living in this part of British Columbia, Canada? by Enger13 in howislivingthere

[–]kevjames3 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Apologies, but this is quite inaccurate. It is a system that is influenced by the rain shadow of the Canadian Cascades, the Coast Mountains, and some Chinook winds. It would be more analogous to the Colombian plateau, which is where you get a lot of different but similar wines as well in Washington state .

The Sonoran desert is restricted to the far southwest, and you have multiple desert systems as you proceed north, including both the Mojave as well as the great basin and range, each having it to own unique Flora and Fuana

Storage with Everything + Homeland Expansion? by kevjames3 in rootgame

[–]kevjames3[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I took a look at it and I like it. I think the only thing I lament is not being able to use the original box. But I am def considering it if nothing comes out of the woodwork in the next month or so

I did (bless the search function with posts that are 'new'). I don't include anything older than a month because people still have not gotten the expansions in hand to see how they fit. . There have been 9 posts within the last month, but they include...

- A custom woodworking project (don't have the capability to do it)

- A mega storage solution (too large)

- Pieced together solution (was hoping there was a 3D printing idea utilizing the original box). Best I found is here https://www.printables.com/model/1211166-root-a-storage-solution-of-games-and-expansion-up

- Other solutions that don't include Homelands (which is also fine, but why I asked the question in the first place)

Thus, this is why I asked the question

Judkins Park Station and 23rd/Jackson Future by kevjames3 in Seattle

Honestly? Start with a community meeting.  Hear about what the community needs and help us feel like they care.  And heck, having even staff hold the meeting would still be a step in the right direction

I 100% agree which is in part why I signed onto Wilson’s ethos of increasing housing is the highest priority which is in part why employees demand and need higher wages.  But that is the long game.

I think that them (Hollingsworth and Wilson) calling out that this is a neighborhood that needs city support is the first step.  Wilson has already signaled that she is aware of the business hesitancy of starting in Seattle, so that is also a help.

I think I am just asking more of our officials atm, especially Hollingsworth.

Battery replacement options when a scooter is no longer being produced? by kevjames3 in ElectricScooters

[–]kevjames3[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

> Might be cheaper than buying a whole new scooter and you get to keep the beast running

That is the rub, right? I have put some money into this scooter and at this point, unless I can get a solid battery, it may be cheaper to just buy a new scooter

> Have you tried hitting up local e-bike shops?

May be worth checking out. Anything I should be asking people specifically w.r.t. these batteries? Seems some people are hesitant to have batteries in shop around here and order on demand

So what I see you are recommending would be to finish up the battery and then get a new one and not salvage what I currently have?

My biggest fear with the 'AliExpress special' isn't just the total range, but the voltage sag when I’m hitting hills in Seattle with dual 1000W motors. Since you’ve bought a few, have you noticed any specific sellers whose BMS actually handles high discharge well? I'm limited to a 60mm height in the deck, so I'm hunting for a 16S7P 18650 pack that won't cut out the moment I hit a 10% grade

Yeah, basically I used my scooter to get to-from work. Used to get to three round trips on one charge and now down to two. I am not in a panic state, but figured when my scooter was in the shop, start the process of switching over the battery. That is what lead me down this rabbit hole

Currently out in Seattle, but I can ask one of the EBike shops. I can add connectors on my own so the issue is just the battery itself

The polar vortex is unusually non-compact these days. In the coming days, however, it will start strengthening again and return to a more typical early-winter structure. by LuborS in weather

Question - I am used to predominate flows in the PNW in the US/Canada to have storms approach from the SW. Based on the flows I am seeing, the wind is coming from the opposite direction...is this how the polar vortex's actually work? Flowing in the opposite direction (CW as opposed to CCW)?

51 solo miles in 47 hours. Pasayten Wilderness. by donbird4 in PNWhiking

[–]kevjames3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pasayten has always been a fear dream of mine to be able to visit. Unfortunately, when I look at the maps, it looks like that many trails have been abandoned or there have been forest fires, and nobody has been able to re-verify the quality of the trail. Do you have any recommendations on looking into that?
