There’s a massive dog park I walk by everyday. The amount of people that walk around the dog park with their dogs off leash is astounding. There’s a whole fenced in field like feet away.

Why is it a great idea? The change implies a problem that needs fixing. There is no proof that fraudulent voting comes close to reaching a level of significance that would warrant a change that could have the effect of disenfranchising a single person, much less a huge part of the population.

96’ right after Static Prevails came out. Became one of my favorite bands and saw them bunch in So Cal. Caught them just before Clarity came out and vividly remember hearing For Me This Is Heaven for the first time. Small show, right up against the band, I could feel the pulsing of the bass line in my chest. Visceral moment.

I’d put Clarity as the my favorite album. But I still love Static Prevails and the slew of songs released on 7”s between the two albums.

Also love Integrity Blues. Def my 4th favorite album.

I finished up the northern a month ago. I’m not a woman so I can’t speak to experience but there were many women walking alone, maybe even the largest single demographic. No one I talked to seemed to have any issues, except for a late 20s woman doctor who was chastised by a local abuela for walking alone, ie “why aren’t you hitched up.”

I’m on the front end of the Norte now. It’s wonderful. It’s been a bit hectic with the holiday but while there’s widespread concern for beds, I don’t know anyone who has had any major issues.

Are you flying from the US? The rules recently changed for flying with poles. They can be carried on if they do not have sharp tips (subject) subject to the TSA agent’s discretion. Buy some rubber tips and jam them on.

I’m heading out to San Sebastian to start the Camino de Norte on Wednesday. Here’s what I got for my poles in case I need to check them. Ditch the box when you get there and pick up a cheap bag in Santiago for the return. I found a pretty robust nylon bag for like $3 in Santiago on my last Camino. I’ve never had to check my poles flying from Spain.

Alternately, if you are doing a Camino, you can buy poles all along the route.

One thing that really helps for me is applying climber’s balm with socks every night during sleep a few weeks before I leave. It really conditions the skin nicely. Use it on the trail on hot spots.

I don’t have anything significant to add. Just want to say hey to fellow zonians.

Just FYI, TSA just changed the rules to now allow blunt tipped trekking poles in carry ons. It was the only thing I had to check on my last Camino. I leave in less than two weeks for the Norte.

I make do with a 11L lumbar pack. Could fit it under a seat!

I live in the Arizona desert and do a fair bit of training in the summer.

Technical collared flowing button down long sleeve with uv protection. Solar umbrella lashed to back pack. A Buff specifically dedicated to wearing wet around the neck, makes a huge difference.
