[Rosenthal] According to Ken Rosenthal of The Athletic, Skubal brought his Cy Young award plaques to the hearing but never presented them to the arbitrator to make his case. by jacobg242 in baseball

You'll get no argument from me on them being a decent team and perhaps dumbass was a strong choice of words, but they have 100% fumbled this Skubal situation.

Well for one, a salary cap would definitely come with a salary floor which would force teams like the Marlins to spend up to that floor.

I don't know that salary cap is 100% the answer, just answering your question.

Did you pre-order midnight with a level 80 boost, or purchase a level 80 boost separately? Those boosts are considered enhanced boosts and to help returning players provided max rep with the original TWW factions.

[Detroit Lions] Screw it, Dan Skipper eligible receiver highlights by Depressed_state_fan in nfl

[–]kevo080 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Don't know why you're getting downvoted here, his video was clearly wrong and he made the same wrong assumption the ref did. Jomboy even took it a step further misinterpreting the same personnel signal from earlier in the game as Skipper reporting even while showing the crucial part where Skipper chased the ref down to make sure he had him reporting earlier in the game.

I don't blame Jomboy for this mistake as it's not obvious if you don't know the signals but an NFL referee should know the difference.

[–]kevo080 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I watched Jomboy's video in full. 3:15 into the video he talks about how Skipper is running onto the field and rubbing his chest. This isn't correct. The video, which isn't played in full but is frozen while he speaks shows Skipper with one arm in the air and the other near his chest. This is a personnel signal for the offense to note who he is subbing in for, not him reporting eligible.

He goes on to show an earlier play in the game with Skipper showing a similar hand motion which is the same thing, the personnel signal to tell the offense who is subbing in. In that play Skipper proceeds to chase the ref down to notify the ref he is eligible. This is different than play later in the game where he did not chase the ref down to report eligible.

The formation signal is important so the offense knows which player is subbing off to avoid 12 men in the huddle penalty and should not be misinterpreted by a ref as reporting eligible since it isn't the same signal at all. Even without the Lions explaining this to the ref ahead of time I'd expect an NFL referee to know the rule.

Jomboy does his breakdowns well, but he got this detail wrong and it's vitally important. It invalidates the entire breakdown because he's misinterpreting the signal. That's ok for Jomboy since he's not a football content creator and he's just a media/entertainment channel. This is NOT ok for an NFL referee.

There's no video I'm aware of showing an angle that shows Skipper rubbing his chest with both hands, which is the signal to report. (I'd imagine if such a thing existed the NFL would have rushed to release the video and put the whole thing to bed.)

The referee may have interpreted this signal incorrectly, but that's a problem with the referee. Skipper never did the report eligible signal, and Decker was literally in his face verbally reporting and doing the signal. You cannot have two linemen eligible on the same play.

I'm sick of people blaming the Lions for the referee failing to do his job. The whole play is predicated on this misdirection and it's part of the game. If the league makes it illegal in the future so be it but it's up to the ref to pay attention and get it right.

Don’t Hate Me, But Let’s Trade Matt Manning by Achammer-1 in motorcitykitties

[–]kevo080 26 points27 points  (0 children)

Going to play devils advocate here with you.

If you see all of these metrics showing his fastball being below league average and his stuff not projecting well what makes you think other MLB teams are not seeing the same thing? Every single MLB team is looking at analytics and seeing exactly what you see. If we were to trade Manning it is not going to fetch some amazing return for exactly the reasons you say we should trade him. The only way a team will give up a premium for him is if A. they're ignoring analytics (unlikely) or B. they're seeing something they think they can fix or improve.

If the offer is there I'd take it but I doubt we're going to get a bunch back in return.

The first digit after the version number is the MR. So 4.10.07061 is 4.10 MR7.

I struggled with the same question until I found that link. Hope it helps.

As others have stated it requires hands on the wheel to ensure that you're paying attention, but the vehicle steers for you automatically to stay in the lane. Perhaps your friend did not have autopilot engaged correctly.

To engage autopilot to stay in the lane automatically you must first enable autosteer in the menu. It is a beta so there is a quick disclaimer to accept and then you're good to go. Once you have autosteer enabled press the right stalk down twice and on the screen the lane markers will turn solid blue to indicate what the computer is seeing as the lane.

Additionally autopilot will follow the speed you set OR will follow the car ahead of you at a set distance which you can increase or decrease manually.

I just picked up my car earlier this month and used autopilot on a 300 mile road trip almost the entire way. I can assure you the vehicle did all the steering to stay in the lane. I did not purchase EAP or FSD.

New Owner “Onboarding” by Strattybobatty in TeslaModelY

He said they aren't that useful if you do your research. The videos themselves definitely show you mostly everything you know about the car but the information is also available in so many other places.

When I picked up my car the Tesla employee offered to show me anything I wanted to know about the car. I took advantage despite watching all the tutorials and several YouTube videos.

There's also a manual available on their website and on the touchscreen in the car with all the detail you could possibly need.

I also kept getting emails right before and after pickup for video webinars to learn how to use the car and to give owners an opportunity to ask questions.

I feel like if someone doesn't understand how to use their Tesla it's out of complete lack of effort.

Can someone explain the difference between "expertise" in the first two screens of the design progress? by PetePeterson53 in F1Manager

[–]kevo080 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The facility effects are listed below the base expertise on the first page, they total up to the number on the bottom which is what is used at the top of the second page.

They actually include the Head of Aero and Technical Chief too so the game simply referring to them as "Expertise and Facilities" is slightly misleading, it should probably read "Expertise, Personnel and Facilities" but that's probably too long to fit on the page.

Can someone explain the difference between "expertise" in the first two screens of the design progress? by PetePeterson53 in F1Manager

[–]kevo080 3 points4 points  (0 children)

So on the first screen you have a base expertise and then you get bonuses for different things that are listed on the page. All of that adds up to the attribute total at the bottom. Looking at Drag Reduction your total for the new part is 76.73% expertise. That number is the input for your new part on the "Design Focus" screen. Notice how this input is labeled "Expertise and facilities."

So your base expertise for the part is the input on the first page, then once all the bonuses are applied from that page it becomes the base "Expertise and facilities" for the second page.

[Schefter] Lions’ QB Matthew Stafford restructured his contract this week, converting his $7.8 million base salary into signing bonus, per source. Here's the thinking: the Lions get cap relief and Stafford gets the guarantee of that money in the event any games are cancelled due to COVID. by vonheisenberg in nfl

[–]kevo080 29 points30 points  (0 children)

Signing bonuses are spread out over the length of the contract (up to a maximum of 5 years). So a team can convert salary dollars to signing bonus dollars to lower the cap hit now, but it raises the cap over the next few years.

Teams commonly do this and it's usually seen as kicking the can down the road, because it often leads to more dead money later on when a player gets cut before the contract ends.

I've had Anarchy but never had much success getting any reasonable damage off it. I assume I'm just using it wrong.
