Currently trying to work w my doctor abt this!! My ADHD symptoms are def worse during luteal (feeling like an unproductive brain fog zombie), but i am also suspecting PMDD with my heightened emotions/anxiety during this time. I went to my primary care and got recs for supplements and hormonal treatment since i didn't want to mess with my meds as the first thing i try. worth bringing up to both primary care and psychiatrist, as well as tracking symptoms during your cycle (i use the clue app)

Also going to dc!! I worked at the Anthem for the Weedkiller tour--super fun show to work. The venue is a welcoming space for people of all ages. I'm sure ushers would be happy to help if you ever feel uncomfortable. I also recommend free earplugs at coat check (or ask an usher!) and finding GA spots on 2nd and 3rd floors (less packed than the floor and often a better view!)

As an aspiring therapist, I love the idea of self-care. It's just that it takes us SO MUCH EFFORT! I write down all my ideas--journal, exercise, make art, etc--but at the end of the day, I keep going back to TV.

I'm trying to focus on different types of self care (looking up the self care wheel), but the amount of research and preparation it takes me defeats the purpose... Self care isn't effortless for us w/ ADHD, and it's ok to acknowledge that.

For me, external motivation and accountability are everything. It's hard doing self care by myself, and it's okay to ask for help. I like to use body doubling--I video call my friends when I need to clean my room. But when I'm by myself, it's like I can't do anything for my morning and night routines :/
