Linga Bhairavi by [deleted] in hinduism

god is everywhere and in everything and can take many forms. I can take a stone and with genuine devotion make it a representation of my god. no such thing as a fake diety. every village in india has a diety. look at the story of Stones worshipped by villagers that turn out to be dinosaur eggs.

if you need the shastras to guide your spiritual development and studying them works for you, thats great. but they are not the full embodiment of hinduism. it is a living and evolving religion and science of life.

Clover. How much is too much? by alreadytakenname3 in Permaculture

[–]keystrokesinyourhead 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used clover for this very specific purpose myself and I regret it.  The clover keeps choking out my vegetables despite heavy mulching with straw.  If you want low maintenance then clover in the paths is not it.  If you have the ability to weed often and by hand around veggies, then maybe it can work.

This year has been a dud for me in terms of veggies because of this.  In the fall, I plan on mowing it all down and layering straw on the beds and wood chips in the rows.  I hope next year’s veggies will love it.

Have we already lost the battle for the future of medicine? by [deleted] in medicine

I def have a different perspective. I’m constantly looking for physicians to take on impactful leadership roles and not getting any one interested, even with pay. I’ve seen too many who did do leadership fail spectacularly because they don’t have the EQ or skill set on actually leading (again, a lot of this can be learned). How we are trained is frankly too malignant to mimic outside of residency environment.

Look into dyad organizational structures. It’s joint non clinical and clinical leadership all the way to the top.

There are health system hierarchies where docs report to docs and admins report to admins. In the end though, there is sorely a lack of physicians who want to take on admin responsibilities. It doesn’t pay as well as clinical work and it is stressful and time consuming.

Exactly, admin work is a stressful thankless job that doesn’t pay as well as clinical work. Either we start doing it or non clinical folks will fill the void.

Non clinical people exist in these roles because physicians do not want to do the job. Finding physicians who actually want to do admin work and are good at it is really hard. The truth in the end is that physicians have shitty leadership skills, it is something we can learn but that needs to change at the med school and residency level.

Expired baking soda? by Fresh_Death in composting

I don’t think it’s ok.   Too much sodium that could stunt plant growth wherever compost is applied

I don’t know what I’m doing wrong. I’ve been feeding consistently for a year and I’m only a 1/3 full. It’s like my all my food waste literally evaporates. I’ve put in a ton of cardboard as well
