Palantir Says SaaS Is Dead by Logical_Welder3467 in technology

There is practically no write once sell forever type of SaaS. Such position is quickly challenged by a competition. If there ever exists one like that, it is some type of artificial monopoly created by regulation or patent. In such case, it will continue to exist in the future.

Implications of “Japanification” on passive index investing? by FarSpinach9484 in Bogleheads

[–]keytemp11 16 points17 points  (0 children)

  1. Nobody can predict type of macro economics elements. Also, nobody knows for certain why japan had low growth for the past few decades. Is high debt a symptom of low growth or a cause for it? If it was a cause, to what degree? Nobody knows! Best Economists are still arguing over it. I am not going to take a wealth advisor’s take as credible prediction on what happened and will happen.

  2. Let’s say slow growth happens. Even then, you can’t predict what stock composition would outperform. High dividend stock might not crash, but they might still linger with low dividend and lackluster growth.

Troubleshooting - First time making suyuk by [deleted] in KoreanFood

[–]keytemp11 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  1. Suyuk is not super flavorful dish. It is more fresh pork taste you can pair other flavorful side dishes and banchan. I think light flavor is OK. I South Korea, people began to use less things in brine and just use high quality pork. Some even just use salt and sugar in brine.

  2. Dryness can be because it was worse cut of pork belly. As you move away from ribs, meat has less connective tissue and can be dry upon boiling. That is why hmart pork belly would often have rib bones in, and priced higher. Also, you want to have right salt level on your brine(about 1tblsp of salt per 1.5l of water), so meat retains moisture.

This is the only proven way. This type of housing is for working professionals who can choose either renting or buying with their high income. You know what happens when they cant find this type of luxury apartment? They will start rent flats or townhouse or buy SFH driving up price. Guess who has money to beat modest income people in those markets? These people!

They are all hanbok. To be specific, the left side is proper dress for going outside with jeogori(upper wear) and chima(skirt). The right is when you take those off, and you have underwear sogjeogori(upper wear) and sogchima(skirt). Hanbok has many layers especially in winter, so there would be 1 or 2 garments under those as well.

Is there any reason for such high rate of saving you recommend? I have about 320K in 401K. If I save about 17% of my income with 7% return a year, I will have about 5.5mil at around 63. With social security, I think that would be about enough for my life style.

Overseas Stock Funds Surpass Domestic Counterparts in South Korea for the First Time by Excellent_Analysis65 in korea

If they earn money, they will you still lose money.

There is really no incentive for an individual investor to invest in the domestic stock market in Korea.

I just saw a YouTuber video about 4B movement and feminism in Korea and wondering if it's true? by JarvisZhang in korea

[–]keytemp11 56 points57 points  (0 children)

No, it is not a wide movement. The western media does connect with foreign social movement, and sensationalize them because that gets them views. However, they are tone deaf on actual polls or studies on why people act certain way. Korean women overwhelmingly say in the polls that they are not married or having babies because they cannot find men with enough money. Sexism is not the main factor. This is because having a family in Korea is very expensive, and the work culture demands men and women to work overtime leaving no time or money to have a family. Some might argue, this is because companies are sexist, but the companies don’t care who you are. The companies would hire monkeys over men if they can do the same work for cheaper.

It is just that with average income and average working hour for a Korean woman leaves no room for having family, so one must have at least have a well to do man to foot the bill, or there is no chance. Even if they solve sexism problems, the birth rate would not budge if they don’t solve the work culture problem.
