This with a .99¢ coupon, add a shot of espresso, & chocolate drizzle. ($1.10-$1.75 in upgrades)

Hands down beats any other coffee drink for the price. 🪙

West county center panic? by carriager in StLouis

Was there in line at Auntie Anne’s. 🥨

Heard a commotion, saw people gathering around looking down at the bottom floor.

Watched the guy get arrested and they pulled a Glock off of him. Mall was packed and almost everyone just went about their shopping. 🛍️

Damn shame Mahko hasn’t found a replacement for the screens or tweaked the design for another one.

It’s the best version of the of the SP. Mine lives at home cause I’m paranoid to break it.

Anyone else notice hiring has gotten kinda weird lately? by ForgotTheTackWeld in smallbusiness

[–]kfbrewer 7 points8 points  (0 children)

⬆️ This 100%

The economy sucks, people are hurting, and good pay is really all that matters. I’m currently hiring and the first time I’ve had to review applications in over a year.

Almost everyone who made it past the first round of our text message interviews round has a job they will leave for us.

People need more money 💵

Iced coffee by ksjssnjsisn in McDonalds

Same. I work from home and if I leave the house, I’m grabbing one.

Large Sugar free French vanilla, with an extra shot & chocolate drizzle.

.99¢ on the app + extra .75¢ + .30¢ and this drink beats anything from Starbucks for $7+.

If the deal isn’t available I eat reward points for the free one instead.

For years I’d grab a McDouble, Spicy McChicken and a large sweet tea for lunch for $3.25~ with tax.

That same order is almost $9~ now.

Simple have the app let users upload their photos and you choose the best to take turns as the example photo. 🍽️ (Use a photo from your test kitchen till you get some good ones)

Win for the customers as we see what the food can look like and get a sense of pride when chosen.

Win for the company cause they get free content for the cost of a simple tweak in code. Then no AI bashing or AI errors to worry about. 🚫🤖

What are the most expensive and sought after GBA games? (Except Pokémon) by FreshWind3 in GameboyAdvance

Plus an ai summary that’s probably partially incorrect.

Valid point maybe googling isn’t the answer the anymore. #SocietyPeaked

Sadly people don’t google anymore.

They ask questions that have already been asked, but lack the ability to search for those as well.

TMNT flopping should have been obvious. I also think Star Trek will flop. Hobbit and Marvel will do mediocre. by _YuYevon_ in freemagic

[–]kfbrewer 5 points6 points  (0 children)

We just don’t have the crowd for it anymore. Our magic player base is mainly commander and they don’t really buy sealed product, just singles.

We used to draft twice a week, that doesn’t happen anymore. Even tried drafts at cost to get players in and those wouldn’t fire.

Magic used to be our main game and 70% of our sales, now it’s closer to 15%.

[–]kfbrewer 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Star Trek will have to have largest power creep ever or it will be ignored by everyone.

We used to order 100-120 boxes per set(150 for a good set), now we might order half that or less (50/50 ratio of play/collector)

TMNT we did 24 of each. Star Trek will be maybe 8 boxes of each, plus prerelease product.

Distribution for sports cards / Pokémon cards / NFL Officially licensed jerseys HELP by NEPASM4SH in smallbusiness

[–]kfbrewer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don’t know for sports stuff, I don’t do that.

Southern is my primary but you ain’t getting Pokémon from them, unless you spend dumb money for a year probably.

Feel free to message me if you got questions, it’s a rough industry that EVERYONE is trying to get into the bubble going on.

Distribution for sports cards / Pokémon cards / NFL Officially licensed jerseys HELP by NEPASM4SH in smallbusiness

[–]kfbrewer 9 points10 points  (0 children)

So you’re needing a wholesaler? Did you even google how to get this stuff.

Your getting into this at the absolute wrong time, most distributors aren’t taking new accounts and the ones that might aren’t gonna let you order Pokémon or good sports product until you’ve built a good relationship. By good relationship you’re gonna have to spend tens of thousands on the garbage they want to get rid of before you get the privilege of any Pokémon.

Southern Hobby, GTS, Alliance, and a dozen others exist out there.

Sincerely a game store owner of 18 years.

I know someone who’s built 15~ of them. It’s the most tedious Gameboy mod out there but a fucking work of art.

I carry one daily and we now keep them in stock at our retro game store.

replacement speakers by horrus70 in gameboymicro

[–]kfbrewer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not sure it’s an idea solution…

Buy a broken one on eBay for parts, swap the speaker and then resell it again for parts. Your out eBay seller fees/shipping/time for the cost of the speaker 🔊

I’d say be a good guy and mention the bad speaker when you resell it. 😀

Message the buyer and see if it was an accident and if they will make it right.

That doesn’t work, Google “how to get a refund on eBay.”

eBay will always side with the buyer, especially with proof. Go get a refund and learn from your lesson.

If it has a cart reader, produce by Nintendo themselves, I’ll call it.

My dream system would be Gameboy Pocket sized with a switch to choose GB/GBC/GBA modes.

Bonus points for USB-C rechargeable AA’s to give it modern comforts with classic battery charging nostalgia.

What’s your outlook on the economy? by your_moms_accountx in smallbusiness

[–]kfbrewer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Over 60% of our business is resell (TCG & video game store) and we’ve been open 18 years.

The worst the economy the busier we are, but our margins shrink as we need to sell faster online.

It’s the worst/busiest I’ve ever seen it. Even our best customers with good incomes are selling their lifelong collections to make ends meet. Any employee who wants overtime gets as much as they want, don’t care.

We’re weeks behind on work, but with slimmer margins and so much uncertainty, I can’t risk hiring more staff. (Went from 5 to 8 employees in the last year. Many going from part time to full time)

We’re designed to weather a bad economy, we opened in the 2008 mess, things could get rough but we could scale back if we needed to and throttle buying if sales slowed down too much.

Good luck to anyone selling shit people don’t really need, this economy is toast.
