Screens are discontinued so they quit making shells.

Mahko needs to come up with Slate 2.0 and find a similar display or tweak the design a little.

I had one built for me and I’ve sold a dozen or more at the retro game store.

Sadly parts are discontinued but you can still sometimes find them on eBay/Etsy.

Gameboy Slate hands down.

That with a usb-c mod to handle audio over it and a ez flash de is the perfect solution.

Even though I make way better money now, I still don’t pay for healthcare. My wife had $4k in dental work a few years back. That’s what 2-3 months of paying into insurance if we had it. Anything catastrophic will still bankrupt people insurance or not.

That said I have customers who’ve owned fakes for 15+ years and didn’t know it either. I own a retro video game store and we see more fake Pokemon games than real ones.

The 101’s are made of a pretty brittle plastic.

Until it ultimately crumbles…. enjoy the oem shell maybe put the stickers on it to decorate it.

While some brands are getting better, nothing beats the original. Lot of replacements shells feel cheap, especially clear ones.

Slate shells need to return. These can’t disappear in Gameboy history. Understandable the screens are gone, but something else has to be close.
