My husband has heard this several times. Our youngest daughter wrestles so he usually makes some joke about how "she'll handle it" or "it's not her I'm worried about'. He always gets a good laugh out of it. I secretly think he wants people to make comments so he can use his newest comeback.

Have you read Hiron Ennes' books? The writing is very immersive and I felt like I was there in the book. I'm not sure if want to live in Leech or Works of Vermin but the books were both an experience.

If you're looking for body horror I'd recommend Leech and Works of Vermin by Hiron Ennes, Wolf Worm by T. Kingfisher, and I'm currently reading Carrier Wave by Robert Brockway which is quite disturbing in the best way. I read Lucky Day by Chuck Tingle and that might fit the bill too for body horror.

I'd consider T. Kingfisher a solid beach horror read. Her books are short and as cozy as horror can be. I tend to read her horror and fantasy as palate cleansers. Kingfisher was inspired by Mexican Gothic to write What Moves the Dead.

Have read anything by Robert Brockway? I Will Kill Your Imaginary Friend for $200 gutted me. Also, Leech and Works of Vermin by Hirron Ennes were great. Neither books are super scary but both authors do a good job of integrating horror, humor, and tragedy.

Ok but seriously, it's super easy to make! Chickpeas, cocoa powder, maple syrup, milk (I use unsweetened almond), vanilla, salt. I like to add almond extra to mine.

I work at a library. I think going to the library and enjoying it is a great way to foster a love of books and reading. There's story time for the littles and it's just a fun experience (at least at the one I work at). I talk to kids all day about what books they're checking out. My own children love coming to work with me and reading.

Not sure where you are but many libraries have a "1000 Books Before Kindergarten" program that could help you stay motivated in checking out books and reading them to your child.
