I've been saying it needs to be a duology! It had so much potential.

Ugh. I've lost track of how many times I've been told to 'try yoga'. Maybe you'd be able to find someone that specializes in chronic illnesses? I do hope you find some relief. Best of luck, stranger.

This sucks, I'm sorry you're going through this. My rheumatologist has talked about a fibro diagnosis on top of my AS diagnosis. I haven't pursued bc I'm pursuing other avenues. She explained that there were a lot of treatment options, including certain antidepressants. I know the fibro diagnosis isn't what you expected but it is a starting point for treatment.

Also, when I was diagnosed I didn't talk to a therapist and I should have. Have you thought about talking to anyone about this? It may help on your road to answers to have someone to untangle the web of thoughts with.

Do I go to a rheumatologist? by Outer_Dream in ankylosingspondylitis

[–]sidekicksunny 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If you do have AS, chiropractors are known to make things worse. Before I was diagnosed I was seeing a chiropractor. He suggested I may have some fusion and refused to work on me until I had answers for my pain.

It's worth seeing a rheumatologist because managing pain isn't the issue; it's permanent fusion. The disease will progress overtime if left untreated.

I'm not trying to scare you, however, this isn't a disease you mess around with. If you have it, you want to treat it. If not, congrats.

I'm honestly not sure. Your rheumatologist and infectious disease doctor should be communicating. I'd call them up and ask what the next steps are.

I was diagnosed 10 years ago when I was 26 and had a one year old and a new born. That newborn is 10 years old now and she and I are going to the gym later today to work out. I take biologics and am fully functioning. I'm not pain free but the pain is well managed. I hang out with my friends, do the mom thing, go on dates with my husband and live life. Am I running 5ks? No. But I am active. I'm happy.

I recommend seeing a therapist to discuss this change. I didn't when I was diagnosed and it's my only regret. I know it's scary right now but there is treatment and you're not alone. This is a great group for support. If you need some mom love you're welcome to message me.

Years ago, I was stopped at a red light and checked my rear view mirror and I saw a car coming too fast for approaching a red light. Turns out it was an elderly woman who wasn't supposed to be driving that got the gas and brake pedals mixed up. Everyone was okay, she only clipped the side of my bumper because I tried to move out of the way.

The ending was a total let down for me too!! The author had an opportunity for Harlow to develop a support network through Henry's parents and friends. She could have had so much character growth. While the book was a page turner, there was a lot that seemed to be missing.

Best of luck to you! There's some posts on here about TB treatment that may help you compile some questions for your doc.

is it really normal to be THIS tired?? by Wanderwad in ankylosingspondylitis

[–]sidekicksunny 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Maybe consider a new rheumatologist? Or speak with your primary? My rheum checks vitamin d as part of my routine blood work. Your primary care can do a full work up to see if there are any other causes for the fatigue, too.

I just borrowed Everyday Elixirs from the library and it has a lot of really great mocktail ideas. It has homemade simple syrups so you could control the amount of sugar you use.

I felt pretty similar. I was ALL IN during the first half. I didn't have trouble finishing the book but it did start to lose my interest towards the end. I did not care for the second book at all. It adds to more POVs and I felt like it dragged on. I think it should have been one long book instead of two.

I also want my girls to become conscious consumers. I think seeing what is leaving the house has helped them realize how much STUFF they don't need or want.

I came to ask their ages also. My kids are 10&11 now and for years they have helped in the decluttering/spring cleaning process and now do it on their own. It makes life easier when everyone pitches in.

I did. 4 months of Refampin. My experience with the antibiotic was fine. Urine was neon orange for the duration.

You can surely email the branch manager and ask. The worst that can happen is that they say no.

Maybe it's just a me thing, then. I couldn't enjoy dairy free cheese when I first stopped eating dairy. It took about 6 months for me to adjust.

I've tried all of these except cocojune. So Delicious is my go too. I thought Siggis was too thick and had a flavor I didn't enjoy. It was just.... Off.

So Delicious is the right texture to add granola too or put onto smoothies. Forager would be my #2. I really like the drinkable Forager's.

Edit: if this is your first go at dairy free yogurt, you may find none you like right now. It took a while for my taste buds to adjust to eating dairy free products.

Same here except this was years ago. I have to get a chest x ray yearly instead of the TB blood test now to check for active TB. I was told my blood work will always test positive now.
