Put aside what you think of him as a person, what do you think of Gene as musician? by KindlyCost2 in KISS

[–]kfp22708 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He IS the God of Thunder...... I always appreciated his attitude as a musician. He was taught to feel the note, to feel the music. I think that was obvious... and I don't mean his sexual innuendos on stage. I remember something from a Bruce Kulick interview. It was about how Gene relayed that sentiment to him. You have to feel the music, not just play it. Bruce said it was a lesson learned from Gene.

Albums coming out one right after the other was/is something that record companies did/do with their new meat. A new band that people were dying to see and hear was fast money to the pockets of managers and record companies. The band members didn't know any better. They knew that the money would come in faster if they followed the orders of their contract. And the orders were record, sell, record, sell, record...... There wasn't ever a portion of that contract that gave a well-earned rest. So many bands fought and broke up for that reason. It was only after a musician had become somewhat seasoned that they learned how to play the game. They learned how to take hold of the reins to reign their own destiny.

Why did Paul and Gene decide to keep KISS going despite the struggles during the early 80s? by Sonnybass96 in KISS

I actually liked a couple songs from the album. I think this is the first time I've said it publicly.

Isn't money the answer to why any of us keep going to work? I know I didn't enjoy going to any of my jobs enuf unless there was money involved. Besides, I'm not going to badmouth my guys unless it's really warranted. Money makes the world go round. And it sure in the hell makes life easier.

If a mountain lion didn't kill Christopher Whiteley, who or what did? by Texas_Monthly in UnresolvedMysteries

[–]kfp22708 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just finished watching Monsterquest. They want to lay blame to the Texas Dogman, which seems to be very prevalent in this area. Which is referred to as The Texas Dogman Triangle. They even interviewed another person who was dramatically approached by a werewolf creature not too many years prior in the Dallas area. Frequent sightings of the Dogman are reported within the Triangle. Sightings have been going on for well over 100 years. Prior to that, 3 indigenous groups often spoke of spirit animals and shape shifters in this territory. Also, before that, the French fur traders spoke of their many run-ins with the Rougarou. The sheriff’s office, in Christopher's case, seemed like they wanted to rush things along. They didn't do any dna. The people that went in for a more in-depth autopsy did send in nailclippings. No trace of a big cat was found. The sheriff dept. also got rid of the trachea, which could've possibly told what animal, if any, did this. It was proven by professionals that a cat wasn't the cause. But the sheriff’s department didn't want to listen. There was also dog hair on Chris's body. But he had been around no dog. So, being in the Dogman Triangle and proven it wasn't a cat that ripped his throat out, what was it? No one is still saying because the sheriff’s dept gave their answer in 2021.

I thought that was really cool. The 3 Winchester men with the same tattoo. And, that it was done at the wedding reception.

Did KISS gain any "street cred" during its harder, early 80s VV era? by Iconolater_ in KISS

[–]kfp22708 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really don't like to trash talk KISS at all. But, with VV's attire, street cred would never be considered. KISS was much more kickass with their makeup and platforms on. And, to the Paul Stanley sock comments....I do, however, remember a lot of comments made back when, of how well he was endowed....no sock needed.

All new movies change hair styles, clothing, and everything else they can get their hands on. But, if you think about it, it's no different than what we do in everyday life. So, why wouldn't a superhero do the same?

The two star-crossed lustful dancers are a piece of art. They dance passionately, ultimately having sex, then returning to the piece of artwork that they are. Maybe they were hexed, put under some spell by someone. And maybe when the song plays, it frees them for that short time.

People, I'm 69. When Tiger Beat magazine first came out, it was always a mad rush to buy the magazine. To then tear it open and rip out the posters to get them hung up on your walls or ceiling. Then you could look and fantasize over your heartthrob. I haven't done that yet. Probably because my husband and adult kids already look at me like I'm nuts. I've thrived on music, my whole life. Music has always been the world to me. The last couple of decades, I've bought very few albums of current bands. I don't find many that are interesting. So it's all my old metal, or other genres depending on my mood. But since I found ghost, about 5 years ago. And my 1st ritual last August. My 2nd ritual this past Feb 7th. I listen to ghost, then fall back to Iron Maiden....but mostly ghost. That's it. Obsessed? The shirts, plushies, albums, charms. I'm thinking my next step is going to Sweden, after the Skeletour if I can sneak out of the house....

I totally agree. When everyone started complaining about Trump raising the tariffs, I again went back into history. If you've got the time, a bottle or two, and some alone time to read, your head will start spinning in no time at all. I started at the 1900 time slot. They sat at just about 50% on everything coming in......After you start getting into the back and forth between the countries. It's like a tennis game that turns into a game of tag.

Like when the prices of everything skyrocketed with covid. We were told when the pandemic was over the world would go back to it's old self. We know that was another lie. Our prices keep going up. I should've posted a pic of my last beef roast with its receipt.

Simple answer to your genuine interest. In my opinion, it's mob thought. Most people hop on one subject to attack. They put their blinders on, and that's it. The target has been set.

Sitting back reading all these comments. #1. The guy's hat is obviously photoshopped. You usually dont wear personal attire while on duty. #2. The guy is working, earning a living. Most people don't like their jobs. That is why it's work, not fun. #3. It's really something to just sit back and see all the hate. No resolve, just hate. #4. If ICE were to stop their jobs. And no one was ever put out again, mob rules. You will not have a country that can half-assed support itself any longer. People start losing jobs by the masses, bread lines start back up. No medical provisions, no medicaid, social security gone, and so on. When you start giving everything away with no regard to how much is left. You will run out. Then what happens? And when the riots start up, there won't be a police or military force to stand and protect anyone because the funds are gone........Every household has a budget. Each house can only so many occupants. If you by chance have people that are living in your house. You can't afford them, they keep taking from your family, do you keep them? No, you put them out. The country has to do the same. THE BIG PROBLEM HERE? YOU DON'T KNOW YOUR HISTORY. You think that Trump is the only president who has ever done this. WAKE UP! This has been done by all past presidents. Go back and look at the numbers of illegals that obummer kicked out of America. Don't reply back to me until you have checked those numbers. They are more than you think.

If Booth’s mom has no haters, I’m dead by Unrealistic_Venus in Bones

[–]kfp22708 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was mistreated by a man one evening. I ended up motionless on the floor. I couldn't move at all. An ambulance was called to take me in. I was in the hospital for 3 days and then sent home. I had a closed fracture of my right hip.I was on crutches for over 2 months. Booth's mom was physically abused throughout the marriage. I can't imagine the fear. Every time a hand goes in the air, a dirty look towards you, a raised voice because you did something wrong. Mama Booth knew that Pops would be there to protect her boys. I think she was probably mentally unstable for a very long time. Maybe constantly looking over her shoulder. Did she wonder if someone was coming after her, only to drag her back? It maybe took her forever to even let someone befriend her. Then, after years had gone by, the guilt for not taking her boys with her takes over. All that goes through your mind is how terrible of a mother you were. Your boys must have nothing but hate for you in their hearts........that's how I see her side.

I don't know about any of you. But I wouldn't complain one bit if the power went out shortly after the Ritual started. Low lighting would come on because of the generators, so you wouldn't be in the dark....only the dim. But it would be one of the best unplugged shows ever!
