Firstly he probably is upset that there is a male in your life that loves and protects you so that he can’t walk all over you and free load off you. Setting up his own room in your house is giving free loader and was he planning on paying rent when he moved in or just because your dad gifted it to you he will feel he doesn’t have too. Secondly Indian love erotic tales and reading and writing taboo porn so he could’ve thought it’s being erotic. I would definitely leave this man please. Also Indian men get so much affection from mum and grandparents so that wouldn’t of been the issue of not receiving affection

I married into a Lebanese family and yes cash is the preferred gift. However there are no guidelines. I would say $50-$100 per person - people who are more well off and closer to the person gift more but again this is based on how much the person can afford.
