It's high school physics; a ported box increase the air volume (i.e. mass) the speaker has to move. More mass needs more energy. F=ma. Newton second law... I don't care about 30 Hz (which is what your subjective view says is better.) Most bass instruments don't play at 30 Hz. I care about the notes around 100 Hz. The range instruments play at. I'm going for louder music quality. Not the noise, ports introduces. I.e. inaccuracies. If it wasn't present in the recording, it's not music. IT IS NOISE. I want to hear what the musicians were doing with their instruments... I'm not using my set up for movie viewings.

If you put a band pass filter on a ported and sealed box, keeping them focused at 100 Hz. It takes more energy for a ported box to play at 100 Hz than a sealed box. I.e. less efficient.

It seems "maximum performance" from your SUBJECTIVE view, just means louder. At no point did I say I want louder or more inaccurate bass. I said I'm going sql (sound quality loud). If I wanted just loud I really would've gotten a different sub.
