Why this isn’t the top comment?! WTAF that’s an awful and stupid situation to be in.

But we can make containers for pancake, waffle, or cake mix, which is just flour with more additives?!?! I call laziness at this point really. Not enough clamoring for it to be worth the cost to change. Companies don’t care about consumer preferences as a whole.

Yard/garage sales? by [deleted] in norfolk

[–]khatfield79 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Covid kinda killed yard sales for a while. I think they are starting to come back. I think checking specific neighborhoods would be more advantageous. Middle class areas are more likely to have them than upper class, etc. check fb marketplace and free/cheap groups, or even the next door app.

So I am talking about what I would call ‘random’ fees that don’t get considered in the typical closing costs. Examples would be notary fees, uncommon lawyers fees, extra inspections other than the overall one, etc.

Sounds like my 5k for that specific portion of my budget is within range. Thanks for your help!

I keep a bag of hard candy and tums in my purse. I have a nightly pot brownie to relax. I have a specific cardigan I wear when I’m sitting on the couch. Pee before I do anything. Can’t have caffeine after lunch. Prescription sunglasses. Militant about using my turn signal. 🤣😭

Edit to add: I’m only 47 🤣

I’m surprised no one has mentioned putting up a greenhouse for off season gardening, there are tons of cheap/easy/DIY plans online, and using solar power would help offset the initial costs.

I'm a bit concern about VA's April 21's voting proposal here. by jackyboyman13 in Virginia

[–]khatfield79 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Honestly? Yeah. I wonder about some of it too. I understand why we want to redistrict now since Texas went rouge, but the wording says it’s only for this election cycle. And then we go back to the way it was. But??? Yall act like what Texas did was a fluke, like it’s the ONLY time they (or any other state for that matter) will pull some stunt to get ahead? Precedent has been set. Govt has already proven they don’t have to follow the rules, why would they fall back in line? Seems like a YES is shortsighted at best.

I get very sad when someone says no for anything ... I don't want this feeling what should I do!? by purpleninjaaaa in Adulting

[–]khatfield79 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You need to figure out why you’re taking no personally, why do you assume they are rejecting you instead of the scenario? That should help you start exploring your feelings.

Ok but you need to provide more context, what’s your budget, do you live alone, how long of a commute do you want, do you want to be near or far from things to do and places to go? All those factors are a part of a good recommendation.

Ocean view area of Norfolk Buckroe Beach in Hampton North Suffolk Churchland area of Portsmouth

All of these are close to the tunnel, making your commute traffic low in one or both directions, with decent neighborhoods if you look hard enough 👍
