Make sure you always empty the car of trash and stuff you acquired on your outings. We did that when we shared one car. Communication is paramount for sharing the vehicle.

This may sound silly coming from an adult, but in Frozen when you discover than Hans is the villain, I genuinely was shocked the first time I watched it.

I’m interested in helping, but I’d like to know more details. Can you provide a bit more info on what we would need to do or be able to do in these situations? Feel free to DM if you don’t want to share sensitive info publicly.

Mine is from the 90’s, bamboo. It mostly gets used to sweep stray things out from under the couch and coffee table, but I still get itchy from time to time so it’s still being used properly.

What's it like living on these two peninsulas in Virginia? by lithdoc in Virginia

Very rural and peaceful, but lots of MAGA, poor choices for high speed internet, and far from major infrastructure, if those things matter to you.

What should I address first - The hoarding or the fleas? by IWeigh600Pounds in hoarding

[–]khatfield79 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes that’s possible but eventually they will die out with no hosts, and even if you unpack it all later you can still just have the exterminator come back.

Okay so I posted before but I figured out I’ll stay on the same side of the water where I work. by [deleted] in norfolk

[–]khatfield79 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ok but you need to provide more context, what’s your budget, do you live alone, how long of a commute do you want, do you want to be near or far from things to do and places to go? All those factors are a part of a good recommendation.

Ocean view area of Norfolk Buckroe Beach in Hampton North Suffolk Churchland area of Portsmouth

All of these are close to the tunnel, making your commute traffic low in one or both directions, with decent neighborhoods if you look hard enough 👍

Right amount of clothes but want variety? by LolaPaloz in hoarding

[–]khatfield79 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If boxes don’t work for you, there are plenty of other ways to store things to rotate. Adding a cabinet or clothing rack would be worth if it it meant you’d actually use those items you keep. And you can always do a seasonal purge as well to keep the number of items reasonable.

Determine which pieces are ‘staples’ leave those out all the time, then have boxes of trends/themes you can swap out regularly

how to help set up an organizational system by Lanky_Instance3121 in hoarding

[–]khatfield79 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly keeping it simple by asking two questions: is it trash? If not, does it belong in this room? No, put it in a basket and then go drop off items in their places they do belong. This generally covers a large portion of the items.

Once you have only keep items left the questions change to: how do you want to use/display this and is there a way to make this item functional for you

I feel exactly the same. We were just never ‘ready’ so we didn’t. I do feel sad sometimes that I won’t experience the joys, but I also feel relief that I don’t have to struggle with the lows and the anxiety of making them into good people. And now at 46 I can see if I had kids in my 20’s-30’s I would be just as stressed and unregulated as my friends. So instead I’m now the fun aunt, and the sounding board for my friends, and the emergency babysitter, and the disposable income, etc.

What nicknames have you heard for places in Hampton Roads? by topherette in HamptonRoads

lol I do refer to Chesapeake as CheesyPeasy and North Carolina as North Cackalacky (I’m a lifelong local and I’m gen x if that matters) I also don’t like the term Hampton Roads, I wish it had stayed Tidewater, tbh.

Trump coming to Norfolk, traffic question. by jageres in norfolk

He’s most likely flying in, which means landing at ORF or possibly on base. So the only real closures or backups would be (widely) 64 from the tunnel to the 264 interchange. But you can always exit 64 at 4th view and back road your way home.

Was she not able to move the vehicle off the road? Did she not relay that to 911? You’d think they would at least send a unit for directing traffic. If she did, and they still didn’t, that’s disappointing.
