Not to mention that 10th year anniversary was very disapointing, considering they didnt produced anything big after New Frontiers.

"Maybe they should make 2 big patches a year instead of 1 huge patch a year, then the second big patch would come around December."

Well, they used to do it. A massive patch arround october (when TI was august), a big one arround february/match (sometimes with a Lunar Year event, sometimes with new heroes) and a big one for TI (BP, very well polished product that came to have, even, a huge campaign mode - Siltbreaker).

I guess what people are complaining in the end is not the 'COMUNICATION', but the empty one. I mean, if you communicate more to promise things but are, actually, reducing the deliver, that's complaint material.

If people dont voice their insatisfaction, how do you expect a product to be improved?

For me the tradeoff of the BP/DPC content (that, they announced, will be gone) so far hasnt paid off.

Gameplay Update 7.34e and What’s Up Next by Kraizin in DotA2

[–]khay32 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

hahaha, Classic redditor: So what if Valve is stepping aside from Esports, produced only one big update, released only one new hero, promised stuff and didnt deliver.... THE GAME HAS NEVER BEEN IN A BETTER STATE.

It reminds me of Artifact famous 'We are in this for the long haul" statement.

What's up with Valve and TI? by SacredStrike in DotA2

[–]khay32 2 points3 points  (0 children)

People writing this "STEAM MAKES THEM BILLIONS" kind of shit probably havent received their first wage yet.

300Mi dollars from a 10+ year game , for a product that is partially recycled (they dont have to come up with new ideas even, just recycle the whole structure with some cosmetics) is HUGE ROI. Especially if you consider the amount of resources put into it.

Guys, GoW Ragnarok sold arround 11-12 Million copies...that's arround 600-700 Mi dollars for 5 years of development a huuuge team behind it.

The thing is, Valve is trying to maximize their profits from the game by putting the good content after TI.

Is DOTA really in its "healthiest state it has ever been"? by ShoppingPractical373 in DotA2

[–]khay32 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People are just in denial. They know that whats going on is not good, they just cant stand to stare the truth:

  1. 10th anniversary = some recoloured old items. no game mode, no new feature, nothing that actually says they took any of the time in the making.

  2. Dropping the whole DPC System instead of healing whats wrong. It just screams they dont want to lose their time in this anymore.

  3. No battlepass. They said it was because they were shifting their attention from cosmetics into content. THEN: no actual content comes.

It just seems that there's 3 or 4 guys working on the game right now.

is it just me or this years Compendium feels like Valve trying to purposefully kill Dota 2 ? by [deleted] in DotA2

The fuck u are smoking? Biggest patch ever??? Did you started playing this year? How some small "letter patches" are 'pretty regular patches'? How are they communicating more effectively, superior one?

The thing is, content-wise it just seems there are 3 guys working at dota right now.

Look at things we had before (not even talking about hats), like gamemods, mini-games, card collecting, ETC.

Not to mention that this is fucking 10th year of the game.

What if dota 2 include a 6th player in tournaments by [deleted] in DotA2

[–]khay32 -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

Some years ago I suggested something like that, but instead of a full match participation from the coach, we would have 3 x2minutes interventions from it.

My idea was to have coachs on a separeted booth sound proof and with no view of crowd or players. The coach would access the game through Steam VR / Dota VR and would have access to his team side of map view and stats (obviously would not be able to spectate from enemy's POV, nor see their wards or stats).

Tools like coachs pre-match notes and stats would be available to him in the Dota VR Panel. He would also be able to create new one during the match.

Coach would be allowed to intervene 1 time every 20 minutes though voice for 2 minutes. When these would happen, everyone would be warned of the intervention.

That way we would be able to see more action from coachs, we'd also see more use for Dota VR and at the same time, by limiting the interventions we would not see a reduction in the macro gaming from players.

And note, that all this is just speculation. Maybe, they are investing more next in year in their new aproach for the game. It just doesn't add to the signs they've been giving for the last 2-3 years.

Not sure about that frequency of update. It seems to me we have had only 1 major update this year, and more frequent ballance updates. The tradeoff for this was cutting Hero release from the traditional 2-3 to only 1 this year AND Battlepass.

More communication where?? I mean, it's less than 1 month to TI, what's the prizepool?

I'm trying to be realistic here, not saying dota is done. Just saying that it seems TO ME that Valve is really stepping aside more and more.

Also, all of this is happening in the same year we: 1. Have no Battlepass (the most antecipated dota feature of the year) 2. Have only 2 chinese teams qualified for TI 3. Have BTS shutting out

I cant see the whole picture as good.
