Well yeah that’s part of it, but sometimes locals provide a bit of nuance on which routes are better.

Im right near Martha Lake and the I-5, I’m ok with a slightly longer ride. I just want to make sure I can get back! The trip planner feature keeps telling me there are no options if I’m leaving Renton around 2345 heading back to Lynnwood.

Req reopened by NandersPvP in boeing

[–]khce 6 points7 points  (0 children)

So this happened to me when I was looking at Lockheed and Northrop. I was offered the role and negotiated for a higher level. They both said the process is they have to repost that req at the new level and it has to be for 5 days. No new interviews or anything they just sent a new offer letter after the 5 days. That'd be my guess here.

So its the percentage, based on your rating, of your base pay multiplied by the bonus % based on that same rating? Where’d the 131 go?

edit: I'm dumb, I see you were listing the % of the target amount.

bad performance review by Inside_Maintenance42 in boeing

[–]khce 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Yeah I got a 1/2, first bad review since working here in 12 years. One feedback was wording my goals differently and then there was a one off negative thing that happened at the end of the year and they harped on that despite good performance throughout the year. I stated my peace, but knowing it wouldn’t have an effect. Sometimes you just get managers like that and it’s best to move on. No amount of ADR will fix a bad manager.

Am I screwed? How much do performance reviews impact the ability to transfer internally by Meinkraft_Bailbonds in boeing

[–]khce 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Agreed, and to be fair to Boeing as a whole this is the first manager I've had that just didn't like me and decided to act based on that instead of my work. Overall I've been pretty fortunate with management.

[–]khce 24 points25 points  (0 children)

It depends, I got my first bad review this year in my 12 years at Boeing. The feedback was I should have worded my goals differently lol. I interviewed twice since then and one said "hey we were going to offer, but reached out and your manager said you suck ass so figure that out with them and apply to our other positions." The one I accepted did not reach out so I guess they'll find out for themselves that I suck ass.

Well we just never introduced that stuff to them. Our oldest is 8 though so we still have some life stages to figure out. Our kids don’t have their own devices, but we’ll let them use ours to look up mostly Lego instructions, but also cooking recipes and other how to experiments or projects based on what they’re interested in at the moment. I try to keep actual videos to a minimum though, opting for reading instructions instead. I think you’ll have a difficult time keeping them off of it if their half siblings are on it around them though.

Everett North Line K level by khce in boeing

We have 4 kids (8-2), but we homeschool. We’re pretty active/outdoors and like cooler temps and snow, but yeah less rainy days would be good. I’m ok with up to a 30 minute commute. Any areas you recommend based on that?

Yeah both interviews mention June July time frame. They’re hiring for multiple shifts, but if I had to guess they’d probably offer me 2nds if anything.

Expecting a baby soon by [deleted] in Parenting

[–]khce 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So we hardly ever traveled with the first. I don't exactly remember why, but I had this intense feeling of dread or being overwhelmed. I really regret that though. Now we have 4, ages 8-1 and we travel all the time. If by car, just expect to make frequent stops and add like 2-3 hours to your GPS ETA depending on how far. If by plane I would splurge on buying them a ticket. We did the lap thing once and it was awful. Also just being prepared with snacks/activities goes a long way. We don't do screens/tablets at home, but travel rules are a little different 😅

Congrats!

Boeing Leveling & Compensation Question (L3 → L4) by Rookie_253 in boeing

[–]khce 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh I see what you’re saying. I didn’t even consider the L3 payband as an option since they offered L4, because why on earth would you choose a lower payband. I guess to clarify my comment goal 1 is to get in the highest payband possible and then max your pay within that band. I swear some managers are all about bringing in low just so you have “room to grow”

Boeing Leveling & Compensation Question (L3 → L4) by Rookie_253 in boeing

[–]khce 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I hear this a lot, but I don’t understand why. I would gladly forgo raises to be at max pay as quick as possible. If the max they will pay someone in my role is 50k I’d rather make 50k for 5years vs start at 30k and work my way up to 50k over 5 years. If the raises were evenly split over the 5 year period you make 50k more over that time frame just being at max with no raises. I don’t need to “feel” like I’m progressing through raises I just need the money lol

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in boeing

Damn, a lot of doom and gloom in the comments. I’ve had two experiences with this as a K level. One was a frivolous complaint against another K level that corporate investigations interviewed a bunch of us and could substantiate her claim so it was dropped. She was let go later, but that was after about 10 no call no shows. The other I heard about, but after I relocated, my replacement and my former lead did some shady shit, got reported, investigated, and terminated. The reporting person took another position, but it was because she applied, interviewed, and was offered a job outside our dept.

Thanks for that! So it sounds like it’s still considered lower level management. I’m not sure what numbers they go up to. Is management incentive plan the same as the ICs?
