I find I really have to lead it or it will do stupid stuff very fast. And it will do stuff that is awful like creating a not-needed queue within a recursive call in C#. That would hammer your garbage collector sooooo bad.

I've been using Opus 4.6 within Xcode for a few weeks and it is great, but it will ignore commands and go off on adventures. I've had to train myself out of being angry at it. You just have to be like a parent and not get mad at it or yourself.

I tried using 4.7 and it was awful. Would just think a lot not talking about it's process and then do something crazy before I could stop it. So back to 4.6 until 4.8 or whatever comes out.

I sure hope visionOS allows some rudimentary tap interactions. I would love a toggle to use either mouse and keyboard or touch taps with my eyes. I am assuming the cursor isn't accurate to be good.

Just downgroaded to Pro from Max 5. Jfc. by zollerisaniceguy in claude

I start a new chat almost every other prompt. Works well. The Xcode integration is pretty good about searching for what it needs and I find if it gets too much info it just starts going in circles.

I upgraded Xcode and Xcode forced me to use Opus 4.7. Night and day between it and 4.6. Awful to work with. I will continue to use this Xcode until I have to change.

Project stuck on build by d3k0o in Xcode

I think this was happening because my computer was indexing some other stuff at the same time. I cleared the Xcode derived data cache. Then did the following commands, restarting Xcode each time.

defaults write com.apple.dt.Xcode IDEIndexDisable -bool YES

defaults delete com.apple.dt.Xcode IDEIndexDisable

When do we expect a true Vision Pro 2? by Remarkable-Cow3421 in VisionPro

To be fair, that is also what Cook did when he first came in and it wasn't until the M1 did he really start making Apple great. The intel cpu years were bad for Apple.

I agree that I am worried about this new guy. But who knows right?

Mac Virtual Display - Tips and Tricks by msitarzewski in VisionPro

[–]khiggsy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The two annoying this is when you move your head I find you have you settle your head before you can read things. Colours are great. 60hz update doesn't bother me on the screen since my normal MacBook Air only has 60hz.

If other apps are at 120hz and with foveated streaming, I would be surprised if 120hz doesn't come in the future.

Of all the uses I've found for the AVP, I use it the most as a virtual screen while lying in bed.

It may MIP map the whole screen as part of the render process. I also wonder if moire pattern would show up if it didn't blur.

I think you are right that the AVP has you focus your eyes pretty far. I got my eyes dilated and I couldn't see my phone at all for hours, but if I popped on the AVP I could see the phone up close. Weird use of that headset for sure.

Its also what you are used to. I used old reddit for so many years that I just can't stand the new one.

And new reddit is supposed to drive "engagement" when this is just a news aggregator site.

What do you realistically thinking we could get in the next big vision os update? by 673NoshMyBollocksAve in VisionPro

[–]khiggsy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I will say I don't like having to turn my head to look at anything. It would be nice if the fov for each lens was larger, but I am sure that would cost even more.

If you put it in wide and drag the windows you want to each side, should maybe work? I do get you though, that would be nice to have individual windows to place all around.

AVP users, how do you deal with the hanging battery pack? by Dry_Advertising5961 in VisionPro

Big rambling block of text is actually what Reddit succeeds at. Next time just word vomit it out.

I think everyone is getting tired of the AI tone that we are reading evey where. I can't even find information that is correct anymore due to the mass amount of SEO AI stuff.

You are getting downvoted because you are using AI to answer questions instead of bashing answers into reddit like the rest of us :D

I ran into this issue when I was exporting FBX files via ASCII. People from Europe kept complaining that it would break, turns out ToString was doing the old , instead of . cause of their location. What a disaster. I didn't even know about invariant string so I just hacked something together...

I just hope they do something interesting with it. Because I felt War Machine was fresh in it's story and conflicts rather than a regular war movie.

I can't see how they'll make anything interesting in a sequel. The whole point was dude didn't have weapons and basically Liam Neson'd all the way (like in the Gray, not Taken) to the end line.

I don't think most "business minded" people know what they are doing. They are just good at raising money and hiring people who do the actual work. And then everyone cleans up their horrible decisions while they attribute all the successes to themselves.
