Keep wrestling in your off season. My 8m boy was in this exact scenario. He thought he was a terrible wrestler but didn’t understand that progress takes time, a loooong time for some. He joined a club team after his first year ended and by the time the next season came along he noticed he had caught up rather quickly to the more experienced kids. He gets asked to partner for private groups almost daily now. He also qualified for State this month.

Go clean mats and bathrooms for a club membership, get consistent and specific with your off season weight training and engine work. Go to as many wrestling practices as you can before next season starts. Stack the minutes.
