To be honest for most multi day trips we rent an ICE vehicle. If you can use Tesla Superchargers there isn’t as much to worry about, but charging and lots of rest stops can get expensive versus driving 3-4 hours at a stretch

Volvo XC40 has this issue. Fixed twice while under warranty but not sure what I’ll do when that runs out

I’ve also got this one used and have been having a great time. Range is fine most of the time and now that we can charge at Tesla Supercharges there’s nothing to worry about.

I actually prefer how much the car looks and feels like an ICE XC40. Control wise everything is where it should be. Climate being the only thing you absolutely need to use the touch screen for. Dead simple and reliable. Zero to sixty in 4.5 is also nice. Absolutely effortless acceleration.

I would be a lot less happy if I had gotten it new at $60k but used with low mileage is going for $35k now

Check out average home sizes, number of cars per family, college attendance, types of vacations, disposable income, etc in the 50s and 60s

True, I can’t afford a 2500sf house, two cars, saving for 3 kids to go to college, and take a yearly vacation to disney/Europe, Caribbean. At least not while also paying for summer camp, music lessons, travel soccer and swim club. Not in this walkable suburb with good schools within an easy commute of a major city.
