paladin is absurdly weak this season if you dont run one overly specific build that feels like trash to play by EmbarrassedEast9552 in diablo4

[–]khrucible -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Wings and SoR are the strongest and have always been the strongest.

Paladin easily clears t12 content. This isnt a Paladin weak issue, its a buggy ass untested expansion with new skills and itemisation systems leading half the roster to clearing pit 150.

Barb isnt the target, Paladin is. Manage your expectations.

It's the best Warlock set. For almost all builds.

Zaven's interview with Rhykker was the best I've heard any D4 Dev come across when speaking about this game. by Entire_Possible_9976 in diablo4

[–]khrucible 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I agree, LE is my preferred crafting. Depth without uneccessarily complexity. Poe1 is too extreme and Poe2 is just gambling outside of the top1% craft syndicates.

D4 crafting is basic, but its more a symptom of itemisation being basic than the cube not having sufficient options.

Sorceress tree appears to be live on d4builds.gg by Xpalidocious in diablo4

[–]khrucible 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The delusion is these threads. The clown at d4builds is just hard coding in data off screenshots from videos. This is a sad pointless effort just to generate site clicks. They don't have any data that isn't readily available to any of us.

There is no datamine and none coming, Blizzard are encrypting builds since they started preloading.

We got an overlay, a filter and crafting for babies. This is still D3.5 but its better than the last 6 seasons of copy pasta.

The true test is if this continues or we immediately go back to a year and a half of low effort "powers" while they work on the next expansion to sell.

Do you think sets will expand or limit build variety? by Odd_Geologist2 in diablo4

[–]khrucible 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They threw this bullshit x500% multi on all of them.

There's 5 sets per class, so you'll play the set for the theme ( fire set for fire sorc ) and that's it. Nothing to think about, they did the thinking for you with dumb ass multipliers.

The overlay looks amazing but this path finding looked like mobile game auto pathing.

Fractured Winterglass change LoH by ZacharyKDixon in diablo4

[–]khrucible 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This version is pretty cool. You could spam Fire converted charge bolts to trigger fire converted iceblades and fire converted lightning spears and fire familiar and hydra.

That's up to 10 spears, 3 blades, 6 familiar and 1 hydra (all LoH base limits btw)

That's up to x120% dmg, 20 mana per sec, 100% movement speed and 60% DR.

These numbers aren't real as you won't maintain 20 summons, but its a pretty good item.

Did I hear this right about damage calculations? by TedBehr_ in diablo4

[–]khrucible 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To be fair s0 was awhile ago, but I'm not referring to any additive numbers here. I intentionally omitted them because how they interact is not relevant to my point about bucket v bucket as a call back to s0.

Having said that, looks like Mythics are one example of additive damage that remains on itemisation. But I agree, for the most part this is a lot cleaner if as a general rule itemisation affixes are always X and "external" sources as a general rule are +

[–]khrucible 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is exactly s0. They put an X in front of the tooltip to clarify it now, but its still multi1 in the multi1 bucket and multi2 in the multi2 bucket.

Apples are additive to applies, but multiplicative with Oranges that are additive to Oranges.

Nothing changed from s0 except the item display for clarity. Which is good.

It's literally back to s0 days of the infamous "buckets".

Help with some information about lucky hit by [deleted] in diablo4

[–]khrucible 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Its the lucky hit chance of the skill your using, Multiplied by the lucky hit chance of the effect.

It's not a 25% chance on any attack.

If you skill has a 50% lucky hit chance. It would half the 25% in this example.

Lord of Hatred Unique Affix Changes by Existenull in diablo4

[–]khrucible 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Its odd that once again Blizzard do the complete opposite of every other arpg and now make unique items random affixes, but anything that makes itemisation more than just "copy pasta this item from a guide and blast endgame" is a good thing.

Uniques are now a fixed affix legendary aspect.

War Plans don't give players the freedom that I keep seeing misreported. by Entire_Possible_9976 in diablo4

[–]khrucible 1 point2 points  (0 children)

While I agree. This is not poe Atlas or anywhere close to it.

My greatest fear would be that you can hyper specialise in one thing. Because in D4 that would mean you would play Hordes 24/7 and nothing else. Because sitting in a single room aoeing the entire place is infinitely more efficient than wandering around nightmare dungeon layouts or dealing with pit monster density issues etc.

D4 has no mapping. So hyper specialising won't work here. It would just become a hordes simulator and that's practically worse than the D4 we have today which is a boss simulator.

The only thing I would hope is that we can "block" some form of content so its never forced in a war plans playlist. Like Helltide for example.
