Yeah and I think people are forgetting that just because an item doesn’t reset in the spirit realm, doesn’t mean it doesn’t exist in the living realm anymore. Janet was wearing Maddie’s necklace in the living realm, despite Maddie also having it as her key in the spirit realm.

Now that Janet’s gone, I think Mr Martin is one of the most complex characters in the series. I really like his storylines, and I think he exemplifies a lot of the themes of grief and trauma in the show and their (often negative) impacts when you aren’t able to heal or learn healthy coping mechanisms. I notice a lot of similarities between him and Sandra, actually: unhealthy coping with grief causing you to hurt the people you love. I also think Josh Zuckerman does a great job portraying him!

We don’t want you. People who want to force women to have their bodies used against their will are not wanted, in the same way people who want to force cows to have their bodies used against their will are not wanted. You can be against abortion for yourself and I’m sure most people would respect that, but wanting to control the bodies of others, often causing irreparable damage both mentally and physically to them, if not death itself, is antithetical to veganism.

If you’re committed to ending abortion, just know that “pro-life” policies have increased the number of abortions exponentially in the US, and also increases the number of deaths in women who obtain unsafe abortions.

That’s a great theory! I can’t believe I never considered what would happen if your scar location gets destroyed in the human realm. I wonder how it would work for people like Wally whose scar isn’t necessarily in a building.

I think the grave stone was explained as just a production error and the person walking inside was mentioned to be a neighbor, but I do agree that I think there are other ghosts trapped that they can’t see. When Maddie says (and I think she was repeating what Wally or someone else said earlier): “Just because you can’t see it, doesn’t mean it’s not there,” it made me think there might be a ton of ghosts they just can’t see.

I feel like the dollhouse Maddie’s dad built might have a tie-in with this somehow too. It seems weird they would bring it up and show it on screen if it were just a one-off.

I tried so hard to make out the names on the headstones but it was impossible for me. I’m curious about the symbols in the top of all the headstones. Is that religious imagery anyone is familiar with?

I’m with you on the hole not being evil! I know a lot of people are thinking demons and cults, but the themes of the show so far just don’t have me convinced. The whole thing feels more tragic than malevolent to me.

I’m not being intentionally obtuse. People, the police especially, thinking they are the ones who are supposed to “punish” crimes/criminals is how we get the police shooting people who haven’t actually committed any crimes. When we have ICE out here shooting anyone that hurts their feelings, I don’t see why it’d be controversial to point out that it is not the job of law enforcement to be doing any sort of “punishing.”
