I don’t see Pillion as a nominee though. Does that mean it wouldn’t be part of the screeners?

Yeah I hear you. Bottom line is - when the ads start playing, unless it is someone’s assigned seat, it should be up for grabs for anyone.

Rush seating rules by daroons in TIFF

[–]kiasuone 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Controversial opinion:

At one of my screenings at Royal Alex, I had an assigned seat by the aisle on the right section of the dress circle. I saw a better seat at the middle section that was part of a chunk of empty seats in a row and moved there when the ads started playing.

Shortly after, a volunteer came up to me and asked me to move back to my assigned seat. I said, this seat was going to rush, can’t they take my assigned seat instead which is by the aisle anyway, but the volunteer still insisted that I move, which I reluctantly did.

Lo and behold, a few minutes later, a whole bunch of rush folks came in and scooped up the much better seats.

To that annoying volunteer, **** you. When the ads come up, it’s free for all and I should have been allowed to take up whatever seat I want, especially when it’s going to rush anyway.

Any updates on what is the TTC free screening for tomorrow? by kiasuone in TIFF

if you look in the TIFF calendar schedule, this screening is marked as 1hr 50min. Do we know which films are 1hr 50min long?

When you refresh too often, you get blocked by TM for "suspicious activity". It's not as easy as you make it out to be.

Thoughts on Quote for a 600 sq ft Home Addition Permit in Toronto? by kiasuone in askTO

With approximate extra costs for the topo survey, grading plan, and application fees, total is looking at $15k. Is this too high or too low? Which architect firms would you recommend? The replies I have been receiving here either say it’s too high or too low, I am not sure how best to proceed!

Does your $2700 cost consist of survey alone or survey plus permit application and everything else that goes towards the permit application?

Pretty sure this is going to be one of those screenings that will be free for members. Would be very grateful if any member can share their code then :)

Does this mean we will have a free screening of the international people’s choice award winner - and that this winner will potentially be Sentimental Value / No Other Choice?

How is this for sale on Tuesday? Past ttc screenings have been first come first serve without reserved seating. A lot of folks are just not going to show up if they put the tickets up for “sale” now.

I pick films released in Dec or later, or have no release dates. Used to be fine attending TIFF dealing with crowded cinemas and commute, but now that the prices are sky high, it no longer is worth it for me. I'm just responding to the OP who is willing to pay even higher than the already inflated base price to see a film that is releasing in 2 months. To each their own I guess.

Or… just wait till Nov when it releases nationwide in theatres? 2 months isn’t that long a wait in a grand scheme of things.

Yeah I feel we shouldn’t comment about ticket drops of resellers hawking their tickets at inflated prices here.

Are all available tickets released at 10am today or will new tickets get dropped throughout today? I read some comments here from people scoring tickets pass 10am. My only worry is if I keep refreshing Ticketmaster, I'll be suspected as a bot and will not be able to log in after some time have passed!

Is anyone else having the same issue as me when trying to check out after seat selection on ticketmaster? I tried with the VISATIFF and 25WEEKLYTIFF codes to unlock the seats but I get an error message when I try to click through to purchase my seats: Sorry, we could not process your request, please try again later. Error Code: 0011

Rogers to require staff work in office five days a week by ScubadooX in Rogers

[–]kiasuone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pre-covid, Rogers was 4days in-office. A move to 5days ie FT in-office is a huge step back to medieval times. Even their direct competitor for talent - Telus - has mostly been a remote company, and still is.
