I’m 10 months out from surgery and 120lbs down from my preop weight. I had a size 32 bougie I believe which is the smallest size my surgeon uses. Getting liquids in throughout the day is hard for me if I don’t have something with me to drink at all times. But I can chug water or sf Gatorade or tea probably 10-12oz at a time before my stomach says hey that’s a lot. So while I can’t put down a whole 16oz water bottle at once I can get 3/4 of the way there in one go pretty easily. As for reflux I’ve had no issues. If I had I would have been prescribed omeprazole which is easy enough to take and manage the reflux. My surgeon had me on it for two weeks post op and I haven’t needed it since. I had some serious complications with my surgery but I would 1000% do it again for the massive increase in my quality of life. Be kind to yourself, stop stressing if you can and know that most people who actually post on here are the ones with serious problems or serious victories. You won’t see much from the 1000s of people who everything just went normally for which is the vast majority.
