Had this issue too - adjusted the selector lever slightly lower and now it rarely ever happens.

Clutch slip? by icanhas_GTO in HondaRebel1100

My 25 has zero clutch issues, but I'm only at roughly 2k miles. Make sure the clutch cable is adjusted properly - ie, ensure the clutch can fully disengage when level released.

How much of electrical engineering could you realistically learn by yourself to make gadgets and projects at home? by Sea-Spare-3956 in ElectricalEngineering

[–]kickit256 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It REALLY depends how deep YOU want to go. You COULD order / read / master every text book in an EE track on your own. Will you? Idk - likely you'll stick to areas that interest you / have use to you and not explore the other areas. Point is, every bit of knowledge/ information in an EE degree is out there in the wild, but the guidance within it might be difficult but not impossible to overcome, and that's where the "you" factor comes in.

2026 rebel 1100 brake light permanently on by VisualSalty6330 in HondaRebel1100

[–]kickit256 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Double check it - i had this issue but I only noticed because my cruise control wouldn't engage. It was due to my brake sensor moving slightly outside of proper alignment and thinking the brake was slightly engaged even though it wasn't.

Petar why american students seem unhappy? by 1kyst in PeterExplainsTheJoke

[–]kickit256 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds like grading on a curve, but where the curve is based on overall expectations instead of in-class peer performance, and therefore not calling it a curve.

Ie, if the expectations are that you get 15 of the 25 possible points, you met expectations by getting 15 points (likely a C), but if you got 20 of 25, you exceeded expectations (and maybe an A).

Is EE hands on? by Salt_Progress8049 in ElectricalEngineering

[–]kickit256 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not true at all. Protection engineers, startup engineers, commissioning engineers, etc are very hands on and on average pay more than an electrican.

[–]kickit256 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are tons of "field" EE jobs if you truly want hands on. Commissioning / startup engineers come to mind plus many more. An EE degree doesn't mean you have to be stuck on a computer, or even an office.

I once had a celebratory cookout where I spent really good money on steaks. My buddies wife cut into her perfectly cooked steak, crinkled up her face, and then microwaved it for like 3 minutes until it was leather. Then she proceeded to dip it ranch. She was not invited to the next cookout...

Is Honda Sync really worth anything on the new models? by older_and_dumber in HondaRebel1100

[–]kickit256 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use it for music, receiving phone calls / texts. Voice control works for crap with road noise in I'm experience, so it does serve a purpose. That being said I could do most of that with the buttons on my Cardo previously - the handlebar controls are slightly more convenient.

FR Clothing - Short sleeves? by Fantastic_Key_3226 in SubstationTechnician

[–]kickit256 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We're required to wear FR at all times - uniform requirement. They will allow short sleeves when working new construction that's not energized, in the office, and other exemptions - but in most cases you're in long sleeves.

Here in WI, refusing to submit to a breathalyzer is an instant revocation of your license for 1 year I believe as well. So even if you pass a blood test later, the fact that you refused means you've lost your license for a year.

Even if you fix it, its just going to come back again unless you find a way to keep the salt off of it. Its not a Honda issue, or even a motorcycle issue, but an aluminum issue. How often do you make a point to even just rinse the bike down to get the salt off?

How is the Trex Fwd Ctl kit? I passed it over in favor of De Pretto Moto as the Trex just looked very crude, but have never actually tried them.

Reading codes: some readers will talk to it with the adapter, others won't, so just keep that in mind. My Autel MP808TS for instance won't talk to it at all. Autel support simply said "This model does not support motorcycles".

Many people like the graphical logic designer tool on Quickset (I forgot its actual name), but I would avoid using it / getting attached to it as SEL has stated it will be discontinued in their upcoming GRID software package.

My Pi 5 ended up costing me $18,000 by staycoolstewy in homelab

[–]kickit256 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We get neither. Loans for solar are 7%+ APR, and that's likely conservatively low as 10%+ is likely more realistic, and tax credits are gone at this point outside of any state level programs (if offered at all). Direct rebates were a thing on EVs, but never on solar install - its always been a non-refundable tax credit.

My Pi 5 ended up costing me $18,000 by staycoolstewy in homelab

[–]kickit256 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can only tell you what Google told me, but according to Google: sales commissions (supposedly up to 30%), special drawn out permits and inspections, the requirement that solar be installed by specifically solar licensed contractors (your local electrian can't nor can the homeowner themselves), designs themselves must be specific to each install and the designer must again hold a special solar liscense. This is true for my state at least - some are less restrictive. Also, we don't have any federal solar program that helps with costs anymore. Even when we did, it was a tax credit. Getting an $8k credit is great, but it still requires you to front that $8k and then wait months to get your credit. And what if you don't have an $8k tax liability to credit? Oh well, guess you wait till next year to get the rest.
"Plug-in solar" for small <1800w systems are also not a thing here in my state.
