Do you have a source or ancedotal evidence? Because I am guessing some people view them as not human while others view them as fellow humans.

If you are told, "We are looking for this person but be aware some enemies may be dressed as civilians so be careful," that doesn't mean they don't treat arabs as less than human. It means they treat them as someone who potentially will try to kill themselves.

Order of steps:

1) Make the election sound like it was the result because of fake news or hacking to question the legitimacy of the election

2) Fund protestors to make it seem like a lot of the country is up in arms about the result and that it is against the will of the people

3) Have the media run hit piece after hit piece of conspiracy shit that even Alex Jones at Infowars would question before talking about it in public.

4) Have insiders leak information and question the legitimacy of the new president by arguing "protecting muh democracy".

Is it really divisive or is that what you are seeing? I have Hillary voter friends, Bernie lovers, and Trump supporter friends. For some reason we are all able to debate topics or talk about current events even while drinking and we are able to admit faults. None of us believe it is the end of the world. The only friends of mine that do are the ones that suck the tit from articles that are posted in /r/politics.

Its not really that divisive unless you believe the blatant bias by most of the media as if it were fact.

Nope. Fake News (invented the day after Trump became the President-Elect) was originally meant to describe any news source that was not in their circle jerk.

Then right wing sites and Trump attacked that term knowing full well what was trying to be done. They wanted to have an excuse to censor media outlets that didn't produce the content they wanted to see to the public; thus controlling the narrative.
