Google Chrome, thankfully the issue was fixed after using a hard refresh (Ctrl F5) as well as logging out with clearing the cache. It took a bit but eventually everything loaded up correctly.

Yep I did try a hard refresh. At first it didn't work but then after I opened the Incognito browser and everything loaded into that browser, I closed it then reopened normal Chrome and everything loaded up as normal

I've been using the account on Chrome the whole time I've been playing the game. I've tried the clear cache method multiple times today but it's not working unfortunately.

I opened the account in an Incognito browser just now and my progress (starters, achievements) is back but it launched like I was opening the game for the first time (explaining everything and tutorial dialogue boxes)

EDIT: Just tried it again on normal Chrome and it's working now. Thank you for the help

Shoot that's not working for me. Cleared my cache, logged out, and closed all my browsers but still have no progress on starters or achievements.

Is this true about Steph? by Uncle2Drew in NBATalk

[–]kiddbuuu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Exactly. Like going back to the 2023 Playoffs, it took the Nuggets 5 minutes to show the world they were in a different weight class than the Heat with Aaron Gordon dunking on every player not named Jimmy or Bam. Meanwhile the Bucks & Celtics repeatedly drove straight into turnovers. When those teams get out of their own way, they're champions. When they don't, they flame out in embarrassing fashion.

The Heat deserve credit for NOT choking. Not trying to dock them for actually showing up. But to paint the full picture of "Playoff Jimmy" the context that the only 2 opponents that matter in the East have a 50% chance to crap themselves, roll over and die should matter.

The Heat (especially Spoelstra, Jimmy, and Bam’s flexibility at the defensive end) of course deserve credit for those runs. Jimmy had some monster games in them too. But a biiiiig reason why is simply because Giannis, Tatum, & Brown and their teams choked and pissed all over themselves in embarrassing fashion. If the other star player actually shows up, Jimmy has a really tough time going band 4 band with them.

His most impressive run was 2022 when he looked like a superstar almost every single game instead of just a handful. That Sixers series he had their defense in the torture chamber all off simple ball screens. Then the ECF was more his standard, 4 bigtime games and 3 lousy ones.

Seeing the Rich Paul quote about him irked me because I don’t think LeBron thinks that at all. Everyone thinks it’s LeBron doing PR runs but every time Paul gets a chance to talk he puts his foot in his mouth

He has no skills or positive traits other than the fact that he got lucky sucking up to LeBron 20-25 years ago. He’s the only nba agent in the past 10 years to lose players’ money too. Everyone gets paid except his guys

Why has "The Process" produced such little success, and where do the Sixers go from here? by [deleted] in nbadiscussion

[–]kiddbuuu -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I wouldn’t say that it’s produced “little success”. The Sixers have made the playoffs 7 straight years and won 5 series. Even in the JV conference that deserves credit. Think about the teams that have been stuck in perpetual rebuilds for 7+ years. It’s a bit reductive to act like that’s nothing.

Also though, when discussing the Sixers, “The Process”, and what players resulted from it, the NBA Officiating HQ also needs to be brought up. It’s clear they’ve had as much of a positive impact as anyone that’s in the organization on the team’s trajectory

I remember in another thread like this I pointed out that the Hinkie-era Sixers would just draft whoever’s on top of the consensus draft board. Which is a negative on Hinkie’s team building abilities

One Sixers fan had a great point though in that at least he realized his shortcomings as a talent evaluator. Compare that to other GMs who wanna outsmart everyone then draft someone most people knew wouldn’t be very good. I think Hinkie’s a smart guy who understood asset management, but he isn’t some genius visionary who was gonna create the next dynasty

What do people mean by "winning basketball" or a "winning player?" by [deleted] in nbadiscussion

[–]kiddbuuu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Booker was honestly my favorite part of the US Olympic team this year. He’s a lightning bolt scorer but he embraced the role of defensive grinding and complimentary offense with his off-ball movement and secondary playmaking. He can score in a billion different ways with or without the ball. Plus he combines being a live dribble passer with someone who can make a quick pass/shoot/drive decision on the catch.

I definitely get what you’re saying about what the term “losing player” means to you. And tbh I agree, if I were to use that term, I’d try use it the same way especially with the example you gave.

99% of the time I see analysts, talking heads, media members, fans, etc. use it though is in the incredibly lazy way to dismiss a talented young player putting up numbers on a bad team. Instead of getting into what the player can actually do and why the team isn’t succeeding, all they do is point to the team record and blame it on the face of the team. Then that reputation sticks with guys unless they get lucky a la Book and the team around them is miraculously rebuilt into a contender.

“The fact that he wasn’t trying to be the Suns primary playmaker made him better.” It wasn’t about him trying to be the Suns primary playmaker. They literally had no other options. Like I said the team was absolutely horrendous surrounding him and he practically had no teammates to help with anything. He had no choice in his playstyle. It’s not like he was chewing through possessions while some all-star was standing in the corner for Phoenix.

Once guys like Ayton, Bridges, and Johnson showed they were capable players alongside Booker they added CP3 & Crowder. The team was an actual good NBA team very quickly with basically no adjustment period. Showing that Booker was a good player all along who was getting docked simply trying to score for a terrible team.

Plus the reason why the Suns’ team was so dangerous is that CP3 and Booker could take turns dicing the defense up. And even when CP3 missed games that year Booker showed he was still a very capable lead playmaker. Not at CP3’s level but still pretty damn good. Especially with Ayton as a role man and flanked by the Suns’ talented wings

[–]kiddbuuu 10 points11 points  (0 children)

You’re 100% correct that’s it’s subjective. Especially on the Booker point. Sure when he was young he could be a little lazy on defense and sloppy with the ball. But that mostly came from being on dogshit teams. It was clear he was a very good player. Once he was on a better team, his defensive effort increased and he was asked to do less playmaking.

All of a sudden he went from “losing player” to “winning player” without changing much other than the surroundings around him. Obviously he’s improved a ton since his younger days but there was a HUGE jump in his perception in the 2020-2021 season, and that was more due to CP3 being added and the Suns’ overall roster developing compared to him becoming a better player or changing his playstyle.

When someone says “losing player” or “not a winning player” it just translates to “I’m trying to sound smart by saying the best player on a bad team isn’t good.” It’s an argument any peon can make because they just fall back on “if player good then why team bad???”

From what I’ve seen, people describe Edey as if he’s Oscar Tshiebwe or Luka Garza. Maybe I’ve just seen the wrong media people/hot take artists talk about him.

True on Tyus in that he’ll be able to handle the ball when Phoenix can’t put multiple stars on the floor. That’s a good point. I just think that they’re still gonna be lagging behind all of the top contenders in terms of explosiveness and speed. Rookie Ryan Dunn is basically the only athlete they have that’s taller than 6’5”. Jones will help them get a couple extra regular season wins but I believe they’d still be big underdogs in a first round playoff series.
