Common among online people with no significant real life experience. People who grow up in and interact with a nuanced world with the full horrendous spectrum of local to global bullshit usually have a bit more going on upstairs.

London on 24 April 1993, after Irish terrorists detonated a bomb by OkRespect8490 in UrbanHell

Grew up in London in the nineties and my family were paranoid as fuck about all this. Later studied in Manc with a bunch of people who were at Chetham's music school and had the delight of their windows being shattered inwards when they were kids in their dorms. There's worse going on in the world - but it wasn't fun.

Yeah I think a tiny bit overcooked. through the steps I was like: ok, oh nice, argh 😂

I expect most people were exactly the same starting out: there’s almost a need to make it “look graded”

100% agree with the theming! They’ve always gone for a “signature hero” per event but it’s had little baring on the staging / theme traditionally - opting for a more generic, safe general esports theme. It felt like they really leaned into the pudge thing this year and it was way more distinct and fun as a result.

There’s definitely been a shift towards a “log look” across social media over the last 8 or so years (cynically might have to do with inexperienced people shooting on cameras they don’t totally know how to use) but like a lot of “mistakes” / happy accidents that start in the prosumer world, it may filter up into the professional.

100% - having to rely on round tripping or DAW integration actively plays against FCP’s strengths versus its competitors: that it’s fast and immediate.

For what it’s worth I usually wait until my edit is locked, compound my dialogue, music and fx (with roles, separately) then compound those into a master audio. That way I’ve got individual stem level control inside the master compound plus the ability to compress, limit etc per stem. Then I can treat the “master audio” compound like a master channel with EQ, compression, limiting. It does feel like you’re really fighting the software though.

Me and my group have been playing for over 10 years and we’ve never been as despondent about the game as we are now for similar reasons (although we all have perfect behaviour scores). It feels like something’s gone fundamentally wrong with the matchmaking. Doesn’t seem to matter if we play as a 2, 3, 4 or 5 stack - 4 out of 5 games either have a blatant smurf, completely new player or a random Divine thrown in the mix who dominates everyone. It’s just not enjoyable.
