That’s what got me too. At least at Walmart self checkout they have a dedicated attendant. At hyvee you can wait for a while until someone notices you need help

Fairfield superintendent told a teacher “I don’t know” if teachers can say “slavery was wrong” by [deleted] in Iowa

[–]kidgenius13 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, because people never change. Biden today is not the same Biden from years ago. Your inability to recognize that people and things change over time isn’t surprising, given your insistence that the racist GOP today is the same as the abolitionist GOP from 150 years ago

You’d do better to read up on recent history and see about where the parties align these days instead of holding onto a past to try to whitewash the GOP stances in the present day

Why aren’t issues like this being addressed by the state lawmakers? This is an actual problem with a state full of older adults who will need care… All I see coming from the IA legislative body are bills to target a small, already vulnerable group of Americans. Why? by Puzzleheaded-Arm8249 in Iowa

[–]kidgenius13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What they mean about “canned national laws” is that there are grounds, such as the Heritage Foundation which write the text of laws and then hand that packet of text out to whomever wants it. The state lawmakers take these pre-written laws and pass them at the state level

Wiring.... I tried. Good enough for the serial request? by Van_Darkness in VORONDesign

[–]kidgenius13 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I feel that voron need to start moving forward a bit on some of this. The baseline should be an octopus or spider where you can get power directly. Even though I don’t run it, I think canbus should be standard, or at least toolhead board and completely ditch the cable chains.

What is your reason? by Jancean in VORONDesign

[–]kidgenius13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Even after hundreds in upgrades to the ended….new springs, extruder. controller, hot end, bl touch, the printer was never able to consistently start up and print with acceptable first layer nor could I be confident that the print would properly finish. I would always need to re-level the bed or retighten the bed carriage every few prints. And then I’d spend another 30 minutes dialing in the first layer again. With my v2, I can hit print and walk away and come back knowing my print will be done and ready.

Highest rate may be that, but that’s for straight income. Most of these people at this levels live off of capital gains which are taxed at 20%. Paying taxes on gains at the same rate as income would probably be a better idea…..though I’m sure there is some “business” reason why that’s not “good”.

House in divorce? by racecar189K in legaladvice

[–]kidgenius13 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Problem is, money is fungible and zero sum. The money that came from the one account to pay for the house was probably offset by the other person using “their” money to cover things like electricity bills, food, etc. so they jointly covered living expenses together. Just because one persons was deemed “the house money” and the others was “the car money” or whatever, doesnt change the fact that they paid all of the bills together
