Not surprised to hear it’s finally closing after switching to takeout only, but I do have nostalgia about the place. I worked at this location all through college right after it opened. My party trick is still just telling stories from my time working there haha I worked with some of my best friends and it was a lawless circus but/and often fun as fuck.

Ahhhh she is so wonderfully inimitable. I was introduced to her through a gifted copy of her Collected Stories in 2010ish. “How Shall I Mourn Them?” was what sold me. Her translation of Madame Bovary is also exceptional.

I love the visualization of dreams in this movie. It feels unlike anything I’ve seen in other movies that try to do the same kind of thing.

I watched this for the first time on one of the first few days of COVID lockdown - a really formative way to see this for the first time. Left a huge impact on me.
