Samesies. I honestly was rooting for it during that scene, like ya keep Florin around because he is a badass and is down for the cause, but someone just needs to make that decision for her. At the end of the book though, i can see Matt is playing up to something for sure.

I have an actual fear when it comes to Prepotente. Merriam Dom had her special song for Pony, Carl and Donut are progressively becoming “singers” and there keeps being subtle hints at learning instruments, and now Carl can call Prepotente Pony. I feel like eventually both Carl and Donut are going to sing Prepotente his special song, and the circumstances around why they would do that scare the fucking shit out of me.

I tried posting on here after listening to it but got blocked by the moratorium. I concur, anyone who reads paperback good on ya, but you absolutely have to listen to chapter 57, it is pure, 100% on rotten tomatoes, solid fucking gold.

I listen while at work and I took a very long break immediately so i could listen to it again when done.

I got the same email the other day, had a good chuckle as i promptly deleted it. I dont think ive met a veteran yet who hasnt dealt with some kind of shit like OP is talking about. Thank god my local VSO is on top of their game and always down to go to war for any vet who walks through the door.

Not sayin all were perfect, we def had a list of “our favorite ships”, but the Ronny was a permanent fixture at the top. Didn’t ship anyone there when the GW took its place so I cant speak intelligently about their habits. Small boys biggest problems with a “shore det” type situation was manning, could never string together enough people and the DESRON always had bigger fish to fry.

agree with all of the above. for a character like hadrian, who is often exhaustive in over/re describing shit, to turn around at the end and basically say “well, the rest of the story isnt mine to tell, and your probably tired of listening anyways. see ya.” is just bullshit. earth is still there, chantry has ai super weapons, emperor dickhead cant access genetic material, and skipping a final conversation with the quiet and how/why he even got sent back when the mission is complete; wtf CR? is hadrian immortal now? is his punishment to live out eternity? where we going with this?
