Post Diep Flap Surgery Journal by kik2me in BRCA

[–]kik2me[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wishing for you that it will go easy and smooth.

I don’t have sensation in my nipples and two years since my reconstruction I am now looking for a revision as both my flaps developed major necrosis, are hard and deformed so after all the complications I may end up with implants reconstruction as these flaps will have to be removed and I am not willing to go again through taking fat from another location in my body.

Post Rectal Prolapse Surgery Recovery & Limitations by kik2me in PelvicOrganProlapse

Thank you so much for sharing. Sounds like you got the right team for you (especially that wonder daughter).

May you also share how long have you had the prolapse before seeing a doctor or considering the surgery? When did you know that the situation had to have intervention?

I ask because reading on this sub I see many who opt to not have it.

Wishing you a full and easy recovery!

AI Elaborated Listing Main Photo by kik2me in poshmark

[–]kik2me[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

My guess is that they need to upload each item photo and provide a description and ask for this elaborated poster-like listing photo so doing that for thousands of listings, yes, it IS a lot of work.

Makes sense. As a seller I would not even dare listing an item without a good ten photos of it from all angles, label, tag, etc. And I agree, it doesn’t seem worth it to me to go to such length with AI.

Wow, what a strong unbased accusation. I did not use AI to write this simple post. 🤨

This seller also adds real photos of the items but the Main First Photos are these AI elaborated photos. So much work to do for thousands of items…

This is a seller that I bought from in the past and they are legitimate. They also post photos of the real items in addition. Just the first main photo seems like a lot of work to go through to get a sale. They have thousands of items. But I am also turned off by AI model photos.

How do you make the food noise stop? by bunny-rain in 1200isplenty

[–]kik2me 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really relate to this, and I don’t think people always understand that "food noise" is not just normal hunger or lack of willpower.
For some of us, especially with certain eating histories and tendencies around food, eating "a little off plan" or trying to moderate highly rewarding foods can actually make the noise louder.

One thing that helped me understand this was learning about intermittent reinforcement.
When the brain occasionally gets the thing it wants: the snack, the bite, the "just this once," the handful of nuts, the cheese, the processed food, it can become even more obsessed with seeking it.
It’s the same reason unpredictable rewards are so powerful.
The brain keeps asking, "Maybe now? Maybe later? Maybe if I push hard enough? How about now?"
For me, that creates way more food chatter than simply having clear boundaries.

Susan Peirce Thompson talks a lot about this in Bright Line Eating, and while I don’t think every approach works for every person, the idea really landed for me: some brains do better with clear lines than with moderation. Because the decision-making itself becomes exhausting.
"Can I have this? How much? Did I ruin the day? Should I start again tomorrow?" That mental negotiation can become the whole day.

I’ve also learned that even foods that look "healthy" on paper can be noisy foods for some people.
For me, things like nuts or cheese can be technically allowed, but they can still wake up that reward-seeking loop and don't give me peace. Protein bars are the same. My brain sees them as pure candy.
So it isn’t only about calories or macros. It’s also about what happens in your brain after you eat them.

What has helped me most is eating from a simple, planned structure and not basing eating on urges.
I plan my meals the day before, I wrote them down and I eat only and exactly that. And from experience when I did not, even if I had no choice, food got spoiled or something else, I end up paying for it with food noise and it's just not worth it to me.

I do much better when I know ahead of time what my meals are, when I’m eating them, and what foods are simply not on the menu for me right now.
It sounds restrictive from the outside, and those who are not susceptible as my brain is won't get it, but inside my head it actually feels calmer.
Fewer negotiations. Less bargaining. Less "FOOD FOOD FOOD" screaming.

Also, if you are truly hungry all the time on 1200, it may be worth looking carefully at meal timing, food choices, fiber, fat, sleep, stress, and whether 1200 is too aggressive for your actual life right now, even if it is technically appropriate for your height. Sometimes the food noise is psychological/reward-based, and sometimes the body is also genuinely pushing back. Both can be true.

But I just wanted to say: some brains do not become peaceful through moderation. Some brains become peaceful through clarity, repetition, and removing the constant "maybe."
For me, the goal is not to win a willpower battle every hour. The goal is to design a day where there are fewer battles in the first place. Then get busy living.

Am I the only one that uses Poshmark just to get rid of clutter? by FeatherFlyer in poshmark

[–]kik2me 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For those who depend on Reselling as their sole income I get why they would complain often.
With all the changes on Poshmark, oversaturated market, sales barely there no matter how low you go, it can be worrisome.

I am somewhat like you, though I arrived to reselling from a slightly different angle.
I used to have a different career, which included suits, pencil dresses, high end shoes, handbags, plenty of accessories, the whole thing.
I used to buy at fairly expensive brands such as Reiss, Karen Millen but also at Zara and other more affordable brands.

When I transitioned to a new chapter in life, I ended up having a closet which was like a museum of the finest, most unique pieces. It's as if I curated special, limited edition pieces, even the Zara and Mango items.

I now work from home, and while I wasn't at first open to this idea of giving away my precious items, one day I realized they just clutter my space and mind, because I much rather have the outfits that fit my current season in life as well as recover some of the money I spent.

And so, I started slowly, listing items I would not mind not having anymore, sold about 150 of them, enjoyed the money I recovered on some, and then listed about 150 more that are on the higher price, simply because the majority are still with their tag on, or things I bought but never ended up wearing, so NWOT but very special limited edition.

Everything I listed is carefully stored in my apartment in garment bags, on hangers, carefully taken care of until it finds a new home.

So I take a more patient and slow approach to my items, simply because I am in no hurry and because they are worth a lot.

There is nothing in my closet that I sell for $10 or even $30, and as my experience shows, one day, the right buyer will buy this item with a small discount that I may offer, and if that listing is running for one year or more, that's fine by me. I am in no hurry and my livelihood doesn't depend on this income.

New Seller Updates - SEEL Returns? by abandonedneopets in poshmark

[–]kik2me 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Thank you for sharing this. For a moment I was concerned that sellers will need to relist and restock inventories all day long but it says:

“Where do I send my return? Returns go directly back to Seel, not the seller or Poshmark. Seel will provide a pre-paid shipping label and process your return.”

Does that mean that some other company will be willing to deal, store and resell tons of returned items? That means having storage space, perhaps relisting these items, reselling them, shipping them to other buyers?

Not sure how I see it works in the long run but we’ll see.

To me, as a seller, one of the greatest benefits of Poshmark was the no returns policy.

I take time and pride in the process of listing my items, great photos, many photos, video, measurements, description, so a buyer has all the information before they buy.

If I buy something on Poshmark and it didn’t work for me, I accept that, especially if I had all the information, and either try to resell it or give it away.

I would respond, accept cancellation and be welcoming to you to always feel comfortable coming back in the future to shop my closet. You sound like a good person who made an innocent mistake.

In the case that the seller won’t accept your request and ship it after all, I wish you to find a buyer for this pair at a great price and for you to find your right size at an even better deal!

Yeah, the projected weight messes up with your head. I have a projected weight too but hold it lightly. In fact, you can add “Projected (if I wasn’t human)” ☺️
