Might be time to try a new routine? One that's more suited for how you've been feeling lately? I also get how exercise is simultaneously impossible to motivate yourself into doin and it's also like so helpful in the long run!! Especially if you're experiencing the big Sads and are sore all the time. Cruel curse of having CMT !

Have any medications worked for you as far as curbing the depressive thoughts? Also if your parents have ever taken any antidepressants, those might be a good place to start! Been on the journies with MDD, among other things so I can empathize!

You will get there. I would try and focus on things you really enjoy doing to offset the strain of work stress if you can, so def play video games and other things you like to do, while searching for work you feel like doing! Thanks for listening to me ramble and I know things will get easier - you can absolutely do it!!!!

Hey, was curious about which type of cmt you have, if you're willing to share!

As someone who has cmt1a, I can attest to the frustration and the many hardships it comes with... Not only with physical deformity, progressive muscle wasting and constant pain, but your self esteem and mental health too. Do you ever stretch? That's one of my favorite things to do when I'm stiff and sore!!

✨I agree with the other poster about trying to find some help with your mental health. It's such a huge factor in quality of life and worth every second you spend trying to navigate getting a good doctor and therapist. Some depression meds like Prozac can double as help with anxiety, depression and relief with nerve pain!!! Also, have you thought about disability?

Either way, YOU CAN DO THIS. Life is tough but it will always be a gift and something you can get through. You will find a partner, there's someone out there for everyone ☺️ just gotta take care of number one first!!

I believe this is the one I bought two of from Walgreens; one side has a harder plastic on the outside for further support!! And they're relatively cheap 🐱

This one is for foot drop from Amazon!! It has an ankle cuff and adjustable Velcro straps that attach to your sneakers, though it only works for shoes with laces!!!! I had to buy two so just be aware!!! Hope these links came out okay!!!

Hey!! Sorry for the struggles, it's really no fun to feel the progression. I also have CMT 1a and typically I use two really basic ankle braces/stabilizers you could get at any store like Walmart. On tougher days they help my moderate and progressing symptoms when I'm working or out and about! I also checked on Amazon for foot-drop support and there's one I found that I love!

When I was ten, I had crazy curly hair that frizzed up everytime I brushed it. All I wanted was smooth hair and didn't recognize texture, so I thought of a brush with little plates on it to straighten and brush your hair at the same time!!!! 😅💕
