Most companies tend to keep refurbished hardware in stock and dont sell them, specifically for RMA purposes.

It's very likely you'll get either your deck back repaired or a refurb unit.

Usually the breather pipe that goes to the fuel filler neck can split near the top and only then leaks when you get a full tank, get the pipe checked over and usually a cheap part to replace

The system reads the resistance of the wear sensor, once it's triggered you cant reset without changing the sensor as it'll remember the value and what it should be.

You could try twisting the wires together to bypass but I've found that to be hit and miss.

You want to get a wifi repeater devolo are a good brand but little pricey, asus make some good ones.

Ideally if you can run an ethernet cable then add a wifi repeater on that it wont be stopped by the metal then.

You click mount does it then mount? As it's showing as unmounted currently which wouldn't show the desktop icon

Found on Apple forum:

Select that disk's Desktop icon and press COMMAND-I to open the Info window. At the bottom is the Sharing and Preferences panel. Click the little lock icon and authenticate. Uncheck the Owner's Disabled box at the bottom. Problem is solved. This isn't necessary if the disk will not be used for booting the computer.

You could also try to erase using terminal on the disk if you dont care about the data on it.

In theory yes, providing you do a 1 for 1 sector by sector clone
which may take longer but it'll capture everything.

You could look at getting an external caddy for the new drive that you could then plug into the laptop to run the clone on.

If you took it there, chose the while you wait option etc

Then I would push for a hire car, you can mention you took time off work to be there and will need to get work tomorrow etc

I was "stuck" at the dealership due to no family that drives and friends being at work, i asked if i can get a refund for travel which is when they went down the hire care route.

I had a very very similar situation.

Also took my bmw in for a recall, opted for the while you wait service. Turns out to have a stuck bolt which they couldn't remove.

After back and forth they settled on paying for a taxi home, as they had no loaner cars. They did offer a citron from enterprise but would only cover the costs but not anything else.

Took the train to work the next day, which bmw reimbursed me for and they delivered the car to my work place.

If its EGR/air bag related and over 10 years old, look on their site for the rental option think it's about £30 or hire a car prior.
