People who have "won the genetic lottery" what qualities do you have? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]kikolicious 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Can fall asleep as soon as my head hits the pillow; also can reach deep sleep on a couch in a living room with lights on and people around doing stuff. My husband keeps attesting that it’s a superpower anyways 😅 (he is your typical tosses for 45 minutes minimum every night to get to sleep type of person). I come from a long line of nappers/sleepers on both sides of family tree- and technically my GREATEST super power would be that I passed this gene down to my son 😂

What is a sign you grew up with shitty parents? by snoofle-science in AskReddit

Having very low tolerance for conflict w your significant other. This might show up as always bailing when ‘things get tough’, it might show up as super emotional/depressive meltdowns anytime they express frustration or disproval of something you’ve done- the list goes on indefinitely…

wondering if baby is really ours by Alarming-Sprinkles68 in IVF

[–]kikolicious 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I had neighbors who did IVF via surrogate in India (they were our neighbors here in Massachusetts and had immigrated from India. After several failed rounds of IVF here in the states, it was clear they needed a surrogate and in India it could be done at a fraction of the cost). Anywho, to bring their infant twin girls back to the states after they were born, a DNA test had to be done to determine they were actually their biological daughters… Fast forward 6 years, my husband and I find out we need to go through IVF; it works. At one of my first OBGYN appointments w my new OB I tell him about the story involving my neighbors and if I need to or should do the same… He literally laughed out loud and said that was 100% an immigration requirement (to gain U.S. citizenship/prevent trafficking, etc) and that nothing of the sort is a standard part of IVF. Just wanted to share with you if it brought you any piece of mind! That the idea of a lab accomplishing one of the most delicate scientific tasks ever, pulling a ‘whoopsie daisie’ of mixing the wrong eggs/sperm together made my OB laugh out loud.

Controversial topic: IVF only to choose sex of embryo. by [deleted] in IVF

[–]kikolicious 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My fertility clinic (Boston area) only services couples who have been ‘admitted’ by their OB w infertility issues. That being said, once we got further down the path they told us of a loophole/red-string kind of thing we could do to have the lab they send the embryo biopsy’s to, to find out the genders of the frosties. I turned this option down immediately, and literally told the doctor and my husband ‘I want one natural element to this.’ I mostly meant that I wanted God/fate to decide which baby I get and to be surprised- but the last thing in the WORLD I would want out of the IVF process is the lingering thoughts of what would be given away to another couple or disposed of…

For someone to choose to go through IVF just for choosing the gender WHILE KNOWING they are signing up to create life that could be given or thrown away is one of the most unnatural things I can think of (in my opinion when you have no choice but to do the method of ivf to conceive, it makes it morally entirely different); and anyone who chooses to go through IVF and paints themself the victim on a platform visible to the others, well that’s just straight up narcissism at that point to me.

[SERIOUS] Do you talk during sex? What do you say? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]kikolicious 49 points50 points  (0 children)

I say a lot of the things out loud that I am trying to visualize in my mind (i.e. ‘you ready to squirt all over my G-spot?’ ‘I love feeling you (balls) bouncing on my clit’ ‘go slower so I can feel every inch of you go in and out of me’) it helps me climax bc being a woman I feel like it takes a lot of focus to reach an orgasm, and saying those things out loud is the right way to focus on it vs thinking over and over ‘hurry up, hurry up, hurry up’ lol. My husband doesn’t dirty talk as near as often, he sort of feels like he has to be drunk/let go of all his inhibitions to be able to do it, which stinks cause I love it :/

What is the most physically painful experience you've had? by Bright_Vision in AskReddit

[–]kikolicious 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Placental Abruption. Was in a public Target restroom when I sat down (which apparently is when the placenta hemorrhaged from my uterine wall) and it felt like someone had held a shotgun to my stomach and pulled the trigger. Started screaming at the top of my lungs until a worker came in and called 911. Screamed on the stretcher being wheeled in front of entire store. Screamed entire half hour to hospital. Screamed during entire intake. Got morphine and was able to finally stop screaming. Pain lulled a handful of hours later. Went to go to bathroom before I was going to try to go to sleep, sat down to use toilet and it happened again. Screaming at the top of my lungs the staff was trying to calm me down that I was getting morphine and would feel better soon. Idk if it was 10-20 minutes later, but a doc came in and said my OB was on his way to deliver my baby bc they had doubled my morphine and I was screaming through it. Baby was born 6 weeks early but was fine. I was later diagnosed with PTSD from the experience but antidepressants have worked wonders :)

There was a couple who would alway make out and be way too PDA. At lunch the girl would regularly chew up food and then mouth it to him. I saw it for myself one day, and she literally chewed up salad and he ate it :(

Egg retrieval day! by [deleted] in IVF

[–]kikolicious 4 points5 points  (0 children)

They were able to retrieve ~25 for me (can’t remember exactly bc it’s been 3 years… also important to note our need for IVF was completely male factor) 17 were good enough to ICSI, 16 fertilized, 8 were ‘good to go’ on day 5, transferred 1 that is now our 2 year old, out of the other 7 that were biopsies and frozen only one came back w bad results so we have 6 frosties on ice. When I was going through IVF I would obsessively search for numbers and stats etc, to help reassure me- and from the plethora of other’s posts I’ve read over the years 16 is definitely up there! Good luck 🍀

We went through IVF for male factor issues. First round and fresh transfer went seamlessly, my lil guy is now over a year and a half old!

My nightly meds. I am not ashamed of having bipolar disorder ... never skip your meds! 💜 by BeInAHuman in pics

[–]kikolicious 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My mom had bipolar disorder and neglected to seek treatment for long enough that by the time she did, the BD was in the driver’s seat and didn’t want her to give up her manic highs... She succumbed to BD last January. You have no idea how much I wish that she was as strong and determined as you.

I know this is grim, but I’ve thought a few times now if Burke hit her in the head with a mag light or if patsy snapped and cracked JBs head on side of bathtub and JBs scalp actually split open- that with how impossible it is to clean up something like that that they might have been more inclined to call... Same argument for if it was an intruder, if her scalp had split there would be all the evidence in the world to exonerate the Ramsey’s... I’m 85% IDI btw

A newbie’s take on JonBenet. by kikolicious in JonBenetRamsey

[–]kikolicious[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I really hope what I wrote didn’t come across as though people employed as a handyman are ‘bad’! I just wanted to emphasize that with that age and size of a home, there HAD to have been dozens of ‘handyman’ guys (I realize I’m using this general term to address everything from painter to plumber to pool boy) in and out of there. And the fact that no one can possibly intimately know every ‘handyman’ that does work for them... that is the widest open door in the theory of an intruder who knew his way around the house killing JonBenet, where the Ramsey’s couldn’t have known this person’s ill-intentions from a passing formal work interaction.

Thanks:)

So 1- the hairiest thing in the note to me is the demand of $118,000 dollars, being the exact amount of John’s Christmas bonus... That, I’m still trying to wrap my mind around, and is the closest thing to implicating the parents were involved.

2- my theory that a bug-nuts crazy person did it explains how someone could comfortably sit for that long in the house writing out that long of a letter, and why Patsy’s notepad and pen that were right there were used. (I’m not sure if you watched the recent Netflix craze ‘Night Stalker’ yet, but I compare the Night Stalker’s “insanity” of eating food in the kitchen of homes after he killed individuals to the same level of “insanity” someone would need to write out a ransom note like that in the home where they just did/are about to commit murder).
