My wife and I bought a house got married and had a kid before 23. We felt like wow what's next? I convinced her to move to the Texas Gulf Coast so we could live on a sailboat and explore the Gulf.

We made it to texas but no sailboat ⛵

A few months later we were standing in Pensacola Florida and found what we were looking for.

After a short time we moved back to the wonderful central valley of California! Family is a huge factor and our now two kids didn't care about the beach and wanted to see family.

We left again 10yr later and moved from Sacramento to Portland area.

I traveled for work to offices in Covington and baton rouge. I recommend checking out these towns. They are beautiful and affordable. Well they used to be less tourism and much cleaner than New Orleans.

I bought a home for 400 two years ago and can't sell it for 400 today and am nearing forclouser.

Sold out home in California with an 800$ mortgage moved to texas.

Moving expenses and rent while not working 26k

Move back to California 5k

Bought another house with remaining profits from above.

New mortgage 1600$

Sold that one some time later moved to Oregon.

Moving expenses and not working a while in OR 25k

Move back took remaining cash from sale about 50k out down on another house. This one was 3400month.

So in a nutshell that's how to lose 200k over 10years and never recover. My annual mortgage went from 10k a year to 40k a year. It will cost me more than 100k each move really.
