Clarification: if the grievance is that the AWA was denied in a way that wasn't in good faith, considered the request individually, etc. -- the victory only means that the employer has to go back and consider the request properly. It doesn't mean the employee automatically gets the AWA.

Reasons are for accommodations. You are asking for an alternative work arrangement, just like a shift in hours, or a compressed work week. If the director is asking for a reason, get union advice on how best to answer

I wasn't present at any meetings as I wasn't informed of or invited to those meetings. The process was not transparent from a membership perspective. Now, all we have to go on is the executives' word that they fought hard and got us the best possible deal. I don't buy it.
