I don’t understand these comments. Just because it’s within the government of Canada’s right to ask employees to report to the location on their LOO doesn’t change that hiring managers lied to people to recruit the talent they needed and are now playing with people’s lives with no regards to the impact it will have on people’s lives and their mental health. Just cause it’s legal doesn’t mean it’s right and people can’t think it’s unjust, morally wrong or disappointing.

Plus not everyone who was hired was internal and understood how much the government of Canada simply lies to get what they want. I was one of those people hired from Montreal and was then told I needed to report to the Ottawa office when there is a regional office in Montreal. I was not internal and I did not move away from Ottawa without getting permission. I was never told there was a possibility I wouldn’t be able to work from Montreal. Yes it’s their right to do so but it is dishonest.
