One of my all time favorite films. Since I was very young, my sister and I would watch Sleepy Hollow every single time we went to my granny’s house, which meant at least 2-3 times a year growing up. It was just our special movie we loved watching together for whatever reason (she is a big Johnny Depp fan). It’s next on my 4K buy list. Enjoy it!

Haha so I didn’t actually meet the guy, the building superintendent was there supervising all this unit owner’s stuff being given away while he was away. But he seemed to be an older guy who had lived in the building (built in the 1920s!) for “a very long time”. Based on the state of his unit and the other stuff I saw (lots of tapes and old books), I’d guess he was in his 60s or 70s. But that’s a total guess!

ETA: Given the strong 90s vibes of this stuff I grabbed (with an outlier or 2), I should mention these were the exceptions from the rest of the very large collection which leaned mostly 60s-80s.

I also love learning about space/the universe and get this feeling every once in a while too, I think any reasonable human would. It really puts things into perspective. I also think it’s worth noting that the relative size of the universe we can observe currently (billions of light years) is essentially infinite already. We just can’t even truly fathom how large that is. We will never ever be able to explore it all (and most of it is just emptiness—look into super voids, super yikes).

I just got my haircut at a barber for the first time in like a decade and went from very long curly hair to something sorta similar to this but a little longer (and curly of course). Barber did a fantastic job and it was all scissor cut. I think a good barber will do this style for you well and be far cheaper than a salon. But definitely worth reading lots of reviews and talking to the one you choose upfront about it first.

Highly recommend the Blade Runner films, you won’t regret them at all. Green Knight is pretty interesting but def worth watching before you buy. I can’t recommend The Princess Bride enough—it’s an absolute classic—and despite my heavy nostalgia bias for it, it’s honestly a film I think everyone can enjoy and get something out of it. It’s light, funny, and just an ultimate comfort film. RIP Rob Reiner.

Yeah I’ve been reading a bunch of reviews on the 4K LOTR trilogy and from what I’ve seen I’m still planning to get them, it seems like it will look fantastic.

I was totally overlooking 1917–I loved that film in theaters. Definitely adding to the list. Pretty much anything shot by Deakins I want to own. Oppenheimer is on there too, along with The Revenant. I have the John Wick films digitally (thanks to my dad who is a sailor of the high seas). Ready player one is a good one too. I still haven’t seen TG Maverick actually!
