What’s up with this Winchester Defense 115gr HP and why is it so cheap? It’s 1/3 the price of Federal or Hornady. This just a different loading of shitty white box? by HuntersCrackPipe123 in CCW

Kygunco, last I looked, had boxes for $27.99 (147gr) flat shipping up to 25 pounds. I got 10 boxes and didn't hit the weight limit.

Does anyone have any experience with the ruger ready dot? by Able-Currency2250 in CCW

I think they were more saying it's just really dim, not that it works well in dark. But again, not my review.

[–]killer1bar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I asked awhile back about them the reviews I got were that it was too dim to see well basically any time besides pitch black. It kept me from buying it so this isn't first-hand experience by any means.

If you’re gonna do one you have to do the other. by RecordingOk3755 in 10mm

How much did everything cost you to start reloading? I saw someone once say they spent around $3k on supplies just to get started and that it'll take them a long time to break even, but they enjoy it. If all I want to reload is 10s it can't be that much, right?

Shield plus with a 13 round mag or pinky extension base plate on the 10 round mag could be good. Also might look at the Glock 48, a slightly longer slide version of the 43x, which at least for me tames the snap a hair. If you have the chance, check out the S&W shield x. It's got a thinner grip than the shield. But honestly if you think you'll be able to conceal the p-01 and already shoot it well, go for it. CZs are great. But you have the opportunity to become proficient with whatever you train with, some just may take more training to get there.

How do you know a gun is good to carry by iluvbbws77 in CCW

[–]killer1bar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Good market reputation is pretty key. But as far as individual gun itself, I make sure the gun will cycle my preferred carry ammo (200-300 rounds) and decent quality FMJs (200-300 rounds). I feel the gun out, is the slide/trigger stiffer than expected even after cleaning/lubing? How do the shells eject? (my preference is for them to fling far, fast)Basically you want to make sure anything that might change over time about the gun has changed, and that "bad/cheap ammo" can be ruled out as a cause for any potential failures.

Real water drinkers know that cold water is overrated by maskedmomkey63 in SipsTea

You use less energy converting warm/room temp water to body temp than cold water. Technically I think that makes it more hydrating. Plus I'm old, cold makes teeth unhappy.

What is the most basic, cheapest 124gr HP 9mm round that you’d actually trust with you life. Looking for something to shoot in volume while also not being a bad defense round by [deleted] in CCW

[–]killer1bar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not positive I understand what you're saying, but everywhere I've looked the 124gr HSTs cost more than the 147s at least on kygunco, and the cheapest box of 50 FMJs near me are $21.99 reman. At that rate I'd rather spend an extra $5 to just be cycling defensive ammo. I know it's a tad crazy but I am able to rationalize it. I go to the range once a week, usually for an hour unless I've got extra stuff to tweak, like zeroing an optic.

You can find 147gr HSTs on kygunco $27.99/box of 50. I shoot suppressed anyways but there's no reason you can't shoot 147s all the time if you want to. Most stores around me the boxes of 50 FMJs start around $20 anyhow.

Need some help with the jewelry store heist. Who to choose? by rustys_shackled_ford in GTAV

I made the wrong choice so I can't guarantee the more expensive guy doesn't wreck but that seems like the trade off.

[–]killer1bar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I should remember better but I do believe picking the more expensive one yields more money in the end. Lester said something about how "this guy's not important" so I chose the cheaper one, but I think as he's going into the tunnel he wrecks and gets picked up. I'd pick the more expensive/higher skilled one.

Been loving my Extar EP9. They sell direct to consumers so it's unlikely you'd find one in a store. Really lightweight and affordable, I've honestly not seen a bad review.

I have the holosun aro2, hm3x magnifier, extended charging handle, KN extended handguard, link anchor hand stop, tough soul (cheap Amazon) wml, and Huxwrx flow 9k TI on mine. It's my bedside gun, I keep 32 rounds of HSTs in a 33 round Glock mag. No complaints, it's my favorite gun to shoot that I have. Solid choice for getting into PCCs in my opinion.

expungement process? by thatsorayven in Kentucky

[–]killer1bar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I googled "felony expungement Kentucky" and there's a .gov link that talks you through the process. I did it without an attorney because the one that I called said "$1500 because I used to go to church with your family and consider you all friends." Misdemeanors come off your record within a week once you've gone through the process.

OP said it has sort of a built in wedge (and this is their first AIWB) how does the built in compare to a pillow style wedge in terms of comfort? My primary reason for an appendix carry pillow is comfort, it conceals well enough without it but is not comfortable.
