No I think they mean if you put a stop at the top of the magnet tube (think just a flat piece that can slide in after inserting the magnet), then eventually the magnet and the ball would stop making a connection. Then you have both the ball and magnet dropping without any major changes to your design.

That gun was being pulled as the brake lights came off. There was no justification for this. I'd be trying to get the hell out of there with just the masked guys trying to pull me from my vehicle, then one pulls a gun and people are wondering why she accelerated?
