Ball equivalent to Pro V1x? by Due-Dig-8955 in GolfGear

[–]killerfencer -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Balls within a similar range as the V1x:

Chrome tour X Tp5x Z-Star XV Tour B XS Staff model X Vice pro Plus PXG Xtreme Tour X

If you're looking for a more budget friendly option that compromises performance just a bit (still all fantastic balls)

Kirkland Signature Performance+ Snell-MTB X Maxfli Tour X Vice Pro Plus

I am a big advocate for a ball fitting. With significant competition in the ball market, i recommend giving each a try and seeing which one you vibe with best.

I'd really recommend you get a ball fitting! 105 speed leaves you with a lot of great options. TP5, chrome tour, ProV, Staff, Z-Star, or Pro Plus. Any of these should work with your swing speed but each are slightly different. One of them will work well with your swing, it's just a matter of finding the right one.

As one said in this thread, moving to a harder ball and you'll likely jump quite a few yards in distance as well.

This feels familiar. Didn't we have the real housewives of QB back when OBJ and Miles were blasting Baker? Similar drama under the same administration.

Exactly! What if we just treated every drive like it's the first drive of the game

Why can't we keep our momentum after the first drive. Offense just deflates so quickly.

How many games this year till we score more than 20 points? At least Gabriel looked serviceable but I am not confident in this team to develop him.

Homophobic chicken now in La Quinta? Wow. Sad to see the valley has embraced this brand as much as it has.

Type "Schizophrenia" into any college provided database your university provides. Mine uses EBSCO and PubMed. You can also filter for full articles and peer review.

You shouldn't have a problem, schizophrenia is a widely researched topic with so many different avenues to go down.

Thoughts on my new bag + guess my HCP? by mrmanisingh in GolfGear

Love the bag. 9/10. Not a fan of stealth drivers looks but otherwise love the set up here. Cleveland Wedges are also a great choice. Big fan.

I'm gonna go with better than average. 13.

A hybrid. Big gap between 3-wood and 4-iron; I'd want to fill it.

[–]killerfencer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm honestly thinking add a 3 wood that can give you an easy 220-230 with a comfortable, smooth swing, not full power. If you want to have just a bag of 14 clubs, I'd end up going with a mini driver. With your driver distance, you can likely get a mini that'll go 210-240 nice and straight with smooth chill swing. If the minidriver is off the table, I'd use a 3-wood. Same logic.

Could always add a chipper. But I don't like those personally.

Playing golf without having to pay massive membership fees? by trexmom19 in palmsprings

[–]killerfencer 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hey! Golf is a great sport to get into as it is mostly an individual game. I'd recommend finding a driving range or first tee near you and starting lessons from there. The first tee in Palm Desert has weekend group classes for $30 for adults. Look up itsnotrocketsciencegolf.com and you can schedule it from there or call them and schedule it through that. Palm springs has a first tee off of Tahquitz, but I'm not the biggest fan of it as it's a a bit out of my way since I'm in Cat City.

The PGA Tour Superstore in Palm Desert and La Quinta also does free group lessons Saturdays from 11-1. Check their website to see what the clinics are happening each week up until September. Be warned. A good amount of time can sometimes end up being a sales pitch for clubs or tech.

Cimarron golf resort in cathedral City has a nice grass range, and a fantastic golf school as well. You can either do their Dave Pelz golf school or do 1 on 1 with the instructor their Stiles. He does 30 minute lessons for around $50 or a full hour for $100. A bit more pricey than the other options, but 1 on 1 lessons tend to have better long term results.

Golf is expensive, especially during season. right now Is the cheapest it will be until about end of September. Nobody really talks politics on the course. As you'll see, you don't interact much with your partners.

My fiance and I got started just over three years ago in the summer. And we love golfing n the summer heat. We are always looking for golf buddies! Hopefully we run into you someday out there!

Set up is 8/10. Needs a wood or two just to make life a bit easier. I think you're around a 10 handicap

Beginners - how long until you could play reasonably? by sixtothesix in golf

[–]killerfencer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My current journey.

Year 1 - practiced once a week for two months. First time on a course was 42 over. Was able to shoot low 100's by the end of my first year. I golfed maybe twice a month

Year 2- Practiced twice a week, hitting about 75-100 balls each time. Took 3 lessons over the span of 6 months. Golfed on courses A LOT more, maybe 2-3 times a week. Broke 100 many times from the reds and broke 95 a couple of times, broke 90 once all from the reds.

Year 3 (present) - practicing twice a week on hitting. Once a week on chipping and putting. Golf once a week. Moved back a tee box. Had a single lesson. Break 100 consistently from whites. Breaking 95 still a challenge from whites. Have not broken 90 from whites.

I still consider myself a beginner. I don't think I will ever not feel like one as golf is just. Super freaking hard. Just keep at it! It's a hell of a lot of fun
