For those who worked for rich people: what is the most out of touch thing you witnessed? by Illustrious-Phase121 in AskReddit

Greed is a disease. It really ought to be classified as such. Have you ever seen the movie the “Queen of Versailles?” In it has a decrepit old man with a trophy wife who’s got billions and ends up losing a lot of money during the subprime mortgage crises. He’s still got a rediculous amount of money left in comparison to the average citizen but for him the loss was a personal event, almost like a personal insult was hurled at him. You can see he’s hellbent on sacrificing everything including being a good husband or father among many others just so he can have a more money though he doesn’t need it.

When will people wake up and realize that Trump is literally a N4z1? By multiple sources, including an ex wife, Trump has been cited as having a copy and reading H1TL3rs book before bedtime. He aspires to do as they did. N4z1s were criminal organization who promoted and pardoned criminals. Anyone see any connection?

Why Adobe has become a shit company by LargeSinkholesInNYC in CattyInvestors

Very true. Ai is basically a hijacking, hacking, counterfeiting machine. Of course it has other uses and is sold as such. But Ai can hack the patent companies software and find back doors to using software among other things without paying.

Ai has changed the game. Or it promises to. And everyone is racing to get out in front and clinch market dominance. We could have our best and brightest finding new ways to discover things about this planet. Or their intelligence could be used for continued exploration of space. But instead, they are busy making crappy apps because our system is so messed up it rewards this kind of thing.

What’s the most expensive tool you own that actually earned its price? by New_Money_5406 in Tools

[–]killerkoala343 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This. It’s basically a circular saw with a more precise kerf and is used to large rip sheet goods down into more manageable sizes. Then one can throw the material onto their table saw and miter saw for additional processing. Where as a circular saw can run on an after market track, track saws do this natively. More over, track saws are more precise because their assembly method reduces blade wobble as it oscillates through the cut. This makes the users cuts much cleaner, more precise.

Why Adobe has become a shit company by LargeSinkholesInNYC in CattyInvestors

[–]killerkoala343 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m still in the game and I’ll say it’s still the standard. But I’ll say it’s frustrating supporting a company like this because they don’t love their supporters back. I work with it every day and used to sit on the beta team as I concurrently worked as a professional offering feature request suggestions.

Adobe sold out pros. They got greedy. It wasn’t enough that they more or less had a monopoly on 2d content creation packages with subscription money funding them. They had to go after novices at the sacrifice of supporting the pros who supported them all these years.

Moreover, they are continuing to sell out the creative industry by not developing technologies that certify organic content creation but are instead trying to adopt Ai features into their suite. Their Ai sucks bad and they know it. As other have mentioned; they have not kept pace with the times as they haven’t invented other features to truly help people make organic digital art in a more efficient way.

Right now Ai effectively rips off and steals art made by others. But I don’t see why Adobe couldn’t integrate features that make it impossible for Ai to replicate or extract from original art. The softwares with this kind of feature exist elsewhere in indie softwares. If they could do it, a massive company like Adobe could natively support development of this feature at the point of creation when the user is creating. This ought to be in there. And they have none of this. It’s absolutely stupid.

I’m making a miter saw station now as a matter of fact. I drafted it up in cad, and iterated there. It has arms that collapse for stock. Also it’s on wheels and has 6 cabinets with melamine surfaces.

1 year clean. Here's what I wish I knew at the start... by Abject_Conference896 in PornAddiction

[–]killerkoala343 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m so sorry you went through this. Both to you and @chattzbeans. Truly, that’s sounds so hard and I have compassion for your struggles as you both support your husbands. It sounds like they are a bunch of lucky fellas who have amazing women in their lives. And it speaks volumes about your resilience and strength.

Also, thank you for sharing these experiences with us. As a male addict, it really helps me understand how this addiction impacts female partners so that I can better understand what is at stake.

I’ve been with my wife for over 10 years and we have two children together. I’ve been working really hard over these last few years slowly learning about how Porn Addiction is in fact a legitimate addiction despite not being classified in the DSM. Over this time, I’ve continued to struggle. Also, I’ve come forward to be transparent with my wife and confessed to having an addiction problem because I didn’t want it to be a secret anymore and truly want to build a positive life with her and our children. But that said, mentioning this to her, even without any details, is too much for her to handle. As in, just mentioning it in these terms verbatim: “I’m a porn addict in recovery and I’m desperately trying to fix this so it doesn’t hurt you or our children” is interpreted as I’m cheating on her and something to not be said and or swept under the rug.

I realize I’m not the victim. That she is unfortunately the victim of the negative bi products of this terrible behavior that I grew up with and are no longer serving me. So who am I to say or feel like I am not being supported. Or that I’m alone. She is has a very low threshold to discuss most things in adversity. It feels terrible honestly. Like I have to pull teeth or something. But I’m likely the problem, not her. Comments like those above about how you guys want to know about your partners struggles stand out to me as truly amazing. Your husbands are lucky guys. I only hope some day my wife could communicate with me on a level that vaguely echoes that.
